Seasonal parking began Monday in Saratoga Springs. WNYT reports parking in city owned garages and lots will cost you $2. Overnight parking is $12. On-street parking is free, if you can find it. The seasonal fees will remain through Labor Day.

Pair Charged With Running Over Person With Pick Up Truck

Two people from Warren County are accused of running a person over with a pickup truck in what police said was a landlord-tenant dispute. WNYT reports it happened in Lake Luzerne on Saturday. Nickalas A. Vandenburg, 27, and Lisa M. Bennett, 27, allegedly got out of the truck and physically assaulted the victim, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said. They then got back in the truck and left the scene.

Glens Falls DRI Projects Nearly Complete

The city of Glens Falls has completed nearly all of its Downtown Revitalization Initiative projects, according to Governor Kathy Hochul on Friday. She made the announcement during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the South Street Market & Event Center. WTEN reports the Glens Falls Downtown Revitalization Initiative has been in the works since 2017, when the city received a nearly $10 million grant from the state.

Second Arrest Made In Fort Ann Deadly Shootings

On Saturday, a second arrest was made in the shooting deaths of two 19-year-olds from Glens Falls. WNYT reports an 18-year-old from the Albany area, Jordan Johnson was arraigned on two counts of murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and tampering with evidence. Johnson reportedly pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.

Fire Destroys Clifton Park Home

A house is destroyed after a house fire on Payne Court in Clifton Park. WNYT reports when firefighters from the Jonesville Fire Department responded to the home Saturday afternoon, the house was engulfed in flames.
7 people were home at the time of the fire and were able to get out safely. The fire destroyed the home leaving 3 adults and 4 children without a place to live for the time being.

Cucumber liked to salmonella outbreak

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a recall of cucumbers linked to a salmonella outbreak that sickened people in 15 states, including New York. Health officials did not specify where in New York the cucumbers were sold or consumed. New Yorkers were among the 26 people sickened by salmonella contamination. None had died as of Thursday afternoon, the agency said.

Two Glens Falls 19-year-olds were killed in a shooting in Fort Ann Thursday and a suspect is in custody, New York State Police said Friday. Killed in the shooting were Adam M. Darrah, 19, and Marcus J. Macaulay, 19, both of Glens Falls, police said. In custody and charged in the killings is David M. Larose, 20, of Albany. Larose now faces two counts of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. said.

Saratoga police appealed to the City Council for the second time on Tuesday night to approve a $25 million, three-story facility to provide better safety and security to both officers and others at the station.Chief Tyler McIntosh and Assistant Chief Eric Warfield, drove home the message that the current 9,000-square-foot station in the basement of City Hall is cramped, outdated and in desperate need of repair.
