A retired Saratoga Springs police officer is having some of her work showcased at the National Law Enforcement Museum. WNYT reports Jacqueline Abodeely worked with State Park Police in Saratoga Springs for 15 years and also dabbled in photography. Some of her work is going to be featured in a new exhibit in Washington, D.C. titled “Officers as Artists: The Creative Expression of Those Who Serve”.

A Glens Falls man was arrested for allegedly driving while on drugs and leading police on a chase that ended in a crash. WNYT reports State Police attempted to stop Damion W. Germain, 47, on Nov 11 around 6:30 p.m. in Malta for a traffic violation. That lead to a chase that finally came to a stop when German’s vehicle crashed and oveturned.

State Supreme Court Judge Diane Freestone ruled Tuesday that the Saratoga Springs City Council violated Open Meetings Law in October 2023 when it held a vote via email rather than at a public meeting. The Daily Gazette reports Freestone determined the council’s violation of the law by casting votes and approving official actions via email was “unintentional, immaterial and wholly unprejudicial.”

A Halfmoon man was arrested on Tuesday following a fire investigation. 37 year old Matthew Fuller was charged with fourth-degree arson, accused of intentionally starting a fire at a home on Cabot Way in Halfmoon on Tuesday, damaging the building. WTEN reports crews from the Clifton Park, Hillcrest, and Mechanicville Fire Departments all responded to the scene.

Families in New York getting food assistance through the federal Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) program should use their remaining funds soon. The benefits start expiring on November 28. WTEN reports check your remaining balance and expiration date online or call EBT Customer Service at (888) 328-6399 to avoid losing access to funds.

The village of South Glens Falls is hosting its first-ever holiday tree lighting celebration. WNYT reports it’s happening on Dec. 13 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the South Glens Falls Historical Park Gazebo. Before that, the village is hosting its annual holiday parade on Nov. 24.

Lake George will be hosting its annual Polar Plunge on November 23. The event will be held at Shepard Beach Park on Canada Street. The 2024 Polar Plunge will support Special Olympics New York, with a fundraising goal of $200,000. Registration can be completed online in advance, or in person from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the day of the event, reports WTEN.

The Lake George Board of Education held its monthly meeting on Tuesday. One topic of discussion was the recent incident where two student-athletes from the Wolverines football team were charged for alleged sexual misconduct. WTEN reports they said the school’s investigation is ongoing even if the Warren County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation is closed. The superintendent also said there will be additional meetings with coaches and student-athletes to go over proper conduct.

The Moreau town supervisor said all permits for Saratoga Biochar were denied. The town now has 30 days to appeal the decision if they choose to do so. WTEN reports a document from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation said they did not meet standards for an Air State Facility permit, a Solid Waste Facility permit, or a case-specific Beneficial Use Determination.

A Queensbury man was sentenced to 10 years of probation for raping a 14-year-old girl. WNYT reports 25 year old Logan M. Andreadakis was arrested in May after police said he raped a girl he knew. It happened in the town of Greenfield in April 2020. Andreadakis pleaded guilty in September to second-degree rape.
