Stillwater Man Pleads Guilty To DWI Charges
A Stillwater man has admitted to driving while intoxicated and crashing with a child under 15 inside. WNYT reports 35 year old
Theodore B. Pamper was arrested March 2 after State Police responded to a report of a car that crashed into a utility pole on Cold Spring Road. He is due to be sentenced on Aug. 12.
Saratoga’s All-American Celebration Is Back
Saratoga’s All-American Celebration is back this July 4th in downtown Saratoga Springs.
The day will include the annual Firecracker4 Road Race, the Saratoga-Wilton Elks’ 55th annual Flag Day parade, a free family-friendly concert featuring Tops of Trees and a spectacular fireworks display. All events are open to the public.
Two Businesses Suffer Minor Damages In Fire
Two small businesses experienced electrical damage due to a fire on Broadway in Saratoga Springs. The Daily Gazette reports The blaze at 368 Broadway was small and no injuries were reported Impressions will temporarily shift operations to sister-store The Dark Horse Mercantile. Magic Moon is also without power and expects to be closed for “a couple of weeks.”
Saratoga Athlete Makes US Equestrian Team
Sophia Eckardt recently made the U.S. Equestrian Team. In December, she will represent her country in South Africa for the International Saddle Seat Equitation World Cup. WTEN reports the 18-year-old has been riding at Rolling Oaks in Gansevoort since she was seven and is graduating from Saratoga Springs High School.
Troy Woman Charged With Stealing From Wilton Walmart
A Troy woman was picked up on a warrant out of Wilton for stealing. 34 year old Kaila Pascarella was arrested by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Saturday for grand larceny and conspiracy, reports WNYT. Pascarella is accused of stealing from the Walmart in Wilton in January 2023. She was released on an appearance ticket.
Ballston Lake Man Charged In Clifton Park Home Break In
A Ballston Lake man is accused of breaking into a home in Clifton Park to steal credit cards. WNYT reports it happened shortly after 3:30 Sunday morning on Schauber Road in Clifton Park. 32 year old Shaun Sheriff of Ballston Lake is charged with burglary and grand larceny. He was arraigned and sent to jail in lieu of bail.
Supervisors Seek Name Change For Saratoga National Historical Park
The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors is asking Congress and the National Park Service to rename Saratoga National Historical Park. The request comes following a resolution passed unanimously at the Board’s most recent meeting.
If granted, the park would be renamed from Saratoga National Historical Park to Saratoga National Battlefield Park.
Corinth Man Accused Of Selling Phony Phones
A Saratoga County man is accused of selling counterfeit cell phones. WNYT reports 21 year old Andrew C. Mclaughlin of Corinth, posted on Facebook Marketplace that he was selling a Samsung phone. Mclaughlin agreed to meet the potential buyer at a Malta business on May 23. The phone was counterfeit and did not work, State Police said.
NYRA Expanding Saratoga Breakfast And Breeding Farm Tour
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) is expanding the highly popular Saratoga Breakfast and Breeding Farm tour program this summer with the addition of a third participant, Sugar Plum Farm, to complement incumbents Old Tavern Farm and Song Hill Thoroughbreds. Saratoga Breakfast and Breeding Farm tours will now be offered Wednesday through most Saturdays, plus select Sundays, beginning Friday, July 12 through Saturday, Aug. 31.
