Pilot Killed In Colonie Crash ID’ed

The family of the pilot who crashed in Colonie has now identified her. In a Facebook post, the pilot is identified as Natalie Gillis, who had been doing surveying activities in North Carolina, and had stopped in Albany to refuel. Her plane crashed around 8:15 a.m. Monday, right after taking off from the Albany International Airport. The NTSB is now investigating the cause of the crash.

Police Call Malta Shooting Self Defense

Police have now identified the man who was shot in a Malta mobile home park, in what is being called a case of self-defense. The suspect has been identified as Kurt M. Hubbard, 49, a resident of the Locust Grove Motel in the town of Malta. WNYT reports it happened at around 11:30 a.m. on Friday. A man forced his way into a residence inside the Northway Estates Mobile Home Park. One of the residents grabbed a shotgun and fired two rounds, killing the suspect.

A pilot has died after a small plane went down in Colonie. According to WNYT, the plane crashed around 8:15 Monday morning near Maxwell and Albany Shaker roads, just after taking off from Albany Airport. A 31-year-old female pilot from Canada died. She was the only person on board. The pilot’s name and a potential cause for the crash have not been identified.

Malta Holds Water Meeting Tuesday

Malta Residents will have another opportunity Tuesday evening to hear about the town’s plan to purchase Saratoga Water Services, enabling it to supply water for years to come. According to the Daily Gazette, Saratoga Water Services, which is owned by the Luther and Mackay families, announced on June 10 that they had entered into an agreement for the town to buy the service, according to a press release from the company.

Mechanicville Police Seek Missing Person

The Mechanicville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating 38 year old Brittney Jaworski, who has been reported missing. According to WRGB, Jaworski, who was last seen on June 10, is described as 5’2″ tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. She has a full sleeve tattoo on her right arm. Jaworski is known to frequent the areas of Schuylerville, Mechanicville, Cohoes, and Albany.

$150K Powerball Ticket Sold In Ballston Spa

A third-prize-winning Powerball Powerplay ticket for the June 15 drawing was sold in Ballston Spa, according to the New York Lottery. The ticket was worth $150,000. WTEN reports the local winning ticket was sold at Stewart’s Shops at 2467 Route 9 in Ballston Spa.

Ballston Spa Man Charged With Burglarizing Clifton Park Business

State police arrested a Ballston Lake man for allegedly burglarizing a Clifton Park business two times in June. Police said 32 year old Shaun Sheriff is accused of stealing money from a closed business on Monday morning and items from the same business when it was closed on Wednesday morning. WTEN reports police arrested him outside of the business on Thursday at 1:22 a.m.

Saratoga Man Facing Drug Charges

A Saratoga man is under arrest following a drug investigation. 38 year old Michael Rosebrook is facing multiple charges after police received numerous complaints reporting possible illegal narcotics activity at a residence on the east side of the city. After being granted a warrant by the City Court of Saratoga Springs, investigators conducted a search at the building on June 12.

Milton Man Arraigned In Alleged Infant Assault

A Milton man was arraigned Thursday for allegedly violating assaulting a 3-month-old infant. WNYT reports 21 year old
Jacob E. Krall is charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
It happened back on March 21, 2023, police said. Krall is related to the victim, but police did not say how.

Mayfield Man Sentenced In Employment Threat Case

36 year old Jesse Bedell of Mayfield, was sentenced on Wednesday to 33 months in prison for transmitting threats to injure another person. WRGB reports Bedell applied to work at Medline Industries in Glens Falls and received an employment offer. The offer was conditioned upon passing a background investigation, for which Bedell did not disclose a prior criminal conviction. As a result, Medline withdrew the offer on Jan. 9, 2020.
