Troy Woman Charged With Stealing From Wilton Walmart
A Troy woman was picked up on a warrant out of Wilton for stealing. 34 year old Kaila Pascarella was arrested by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Saturday for grand larceny and conspiracy, reports WNYT. Pascarella is accused of stealing from the Walmart in Wilton in January 2023. She was released on an appearance ticket.
Ballston Lake Man Charged In Clifton Park Home Break In
A Ballston Lake man is accused of breaking into a home in Clifton Park to steal credit cards. WNYT reports it happened shortly after 3:30 Sunday morning on Schauber Road in Clifton Park. 32 year old Shaun Sheriff of Ballston Lake is charged with burglary and grand larceny. He was arraigned and sent to jail in lieu of bail.
Supervisors Seek Name Change For Saratoga National Historical Park
The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors is asking Congress and the National Park Service to rename Saratoga National Historical Park. The request comes following a resolution passed unanimously at the Board’s most recent meeting.
If granted, the park would be renamed from Saratoga National Historical Park to Saratoga National Battlefield Park.
Corinth Man Accused Of Selling Phony Phones
A Saratoga County man is accused of selling counterfeit cell phones. WNYT reports 21 year old Andrew C. Mclaughlin of Corinth, posted on Facebook Marketplace that he was selling a Samsung phone. Mclaughlin agreed to meet the potential buyer at a Malta business on May 23. The phone was counterfeit and did not work, State Police said.
NYRA Expanding Saratoga Breakfast And Breeding Farm Tour
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) is expanding the highly popular Saratoga Breakfast and Breeding Farm tour program this summer with the addition of a third participant, Sugar Plum Farm, to complement incumbents Old Tavern Farm and Song Hill Thoroughbreds. Saratoga Breakfast and Breeding Farm tours will now be offered Wednesday through most Saturdays, plus select Sundays, beginning Friday, July 12 through Saturday, Aug. 31.
Saratoga BLM Cancels Juneteenth Event
The 4th annual ‘Juneteenth Kick Back’ was originally set for the Friday after Juneteenth. However, Saratoga BLM canceled the event citing a recent complaint. WRGB reports The event was set to take place on Friday at the Frederick Allen Elk Lodge in Saratoga Springs. The group claims the Lodge received a call from the State Liquor Authority about an anonymous complaint, within 12 hours of publicizing the event.
Greenwich Man Arrested In Wilton Home Invasion
A Greenwich man is accused of assaulting a person during a home invasion. WNYT reports 37 year old Timothy J. Fedler allegedly went to a Wilton home just before 6 p.m., hit the person inside several times and damaged property. Fedler and the victim didn’t know each other, police said. Fedler left before police arrived but was arrested at his home.
Arrest Made In Police Officer Dragging Incident
A woman who was accused of being involved in a hit-and-run in Saratoga Springs has been arrested. Police said 34-year-old Theresa Travis was arrested in Warrensburg Tuesday afternoon. WTEN reports Travis is accused of dragging a police officer while fleeing a traffic stop on Tuesday. The officer was treated for their injuries.
Seasonal Paid Parking In Saratoga
The seasonal paid parking program goes into effect in Saratoga Springs this week, reports WNYT. Visitors will be charged $2 per hour to park downtown in garages and lots. People can park in Congress Park Center for free for two hours and $5 an hour after that. Street parking will stay free for everyone. Residents can also park free with a permit.
