A local credit union is collecting donations to help the Hudson River Mill Museum, which was recently vandalized. WTEN reports the Hudson River Community Credit Union is collecting donations to help with restoration efforts. Donations can be made at the bank’s Corinth branch or by calling (518) 886-3400 ext. 6.
Museum officials said the young suspects caused damage that will cost around $100,000 to repair.
Shiley New President Of SPAC
There’s a new president of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, but he is not new to the organization. Christopher Shiley has part of the SPAC leadership for more than seven years, most recently as Senior Vice President of Artistic Planning. Shiley will now oversee SPAC’s programming and day-to-day operations in alignment with the organization’s goals for the future.

Stefanik Reportedly Considering Run For Governor
Rep. Elise Stefanik, a member of House Republican leadership and onetime nominee for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, is reportedly considering a run for New York governor. Stefanik had been nominated to represent the U.S. at the United Nations. But her nomination was pulled last month amid concerns about leaving a Republican House seat vacant when the party has such a narrow majority in the chamber.
Three Juveniles Arrested For Corinth Museum Vandalism
Three juveniles have been arrested for allegedly ransacking a community museum in Corinth. According to WNYT, Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Hudson River Mill Museum around 10:20 a.m. Monday for a report of vandalism. The vandals broke in and smashed every piece of glass and threw paper. They smashed file cabinets and set off all the fire extinguishers. They tore sheetrock that contained beautiful murals on the walls. The investigation is ongoing.
SSPD Not Involved In Tuesday ICE Arrest
Immigration agents arrested a person in Saratoga Springs on Tuesday morning. WNYT reports Saratoga Springs Police confirmed that Immigrations and Customs Enforcement contacted them around 6:15 a.m. to inform them that they were conducting surveillance, but did not require local assistance. Just before 8 a.m., they confirmed that ICE contacted the communications center and said they arrested a person on Broadway near Gardner Lane and they were leaving the city.
Bid To Move Up Saratoga County Bar Closing Times Rejected
Last call time for bars in Saratoga County will stay at 4 a.m. WNYT reports the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday voted down a proposal to prohibit bars from selling alcohol in Saratoga County after 2 a.m. from November through April and after 3 a.m. from May through October. It would have remained 4 a.m. for New Year’s Day.
Lake George Man Found Guilty Of Defrauding Investors
A Lake George man has been found guilty of defrauding investors of millions of dollars and failing to file tax returns. A federal jury voted to convict Michael E. Conner of 22 counts of wire fraud and two counts of failing to file tax returns. The trial evidence proved that Conner, 56, was an inventor of household products and fraudulently sought and obtained loans from people who believed they were loaning money to Conner for business purposes, Instead, he used the money for personal expenses
Stray Bullet Caused Water Problems At Ellsworth Apartments
A majority of impacted tenants at the Ellsworth Apartments in Malta have reportedly returned to their units after the building was evacuated during a State Trooper-involved shooting on April 10, officials announced on Monday. The apartments were deemed temporarily uninhabitable after the building sustained water damage on Thursday. Turns out a stray bullet struck a water line feeding the building’s sprinkler system, reports WTEN.
State Reminds Boaters Of Need For Certificate
New York state is reminding boat operators that they need to have a safety certificate to hit the waters. WNYT reports the certificate is required boat operators of all ages. Operators of non-motorized boats like canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are not required to have a certificate but are also encouraged to take a boating safety course.
