The pilot charged with stalking a Schuylerville woman and her family with his airplane was sentenced after lengthy court proceedings. WRGB reports 66 year old Michael Arnold was sentenced to six months with five years probation for violating an order of protection. He was charged and pleaded guilty to felony criminal contempt on May 14th.
Hyde Annual Gala Raises More Than $300K
The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls recently rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the healing impact of art. According to WNYT, more than 200 people attended the Hyde’s annual gala, helping to raise more than $300,000 to support the mission of the Hyde, which houses world-famous works from artists including Rembrandt and Picasso.
Man Charged In Cumberland Farms Break In
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34 year old Chadd J. Zerniak of Walcott in burglary at the Cumberland Farms on Main Street in South Glens Falls early Sunday morning. The Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at 3:14 a.m. Zerniak was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief, reports WNYT.
Schuylerville Woman Cuffed For Property Damage
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42 year old Carolyn R. Backus of Schuylerville for damaging property. WNYT reports police responded to a disturbance call on Chestnut Street in Schuylerville on Friday and arrested Backus for third-degree criminal mischief. She is accused of damaging property of another person in an amount exceeding $250.
Weekend Hours For Voter Registration
Boards of Elections in Warren and Washington counties will open their doors for special night and weekend hours in the coming weeks to make it easier for local residents to register to vote this November.
Elections officials in both counties will open their offices on Saturday, September 28, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Thursday, October 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Residents will be able to register to vote or update their registration information if necessary.

Saratoga Corinth & Hudson Railway Adds Trains To Attraction
The Saratoga Corinth & Hudson Railway has become a tourist attraction since it launched back in 2022. This summer, the railway added two new additions to the lineup. The two added Delaware & Hudson vintage trains once served the lines to the mines locally, according to Hal Raven, president of Saratoga Corinth & Hudson Railway.
Milton Woman Facing Strangulation Charges
41-year-old Jennifer L. Fraser of Milton was arrested on Saturday following a report for strangulation and endangering the welfare of a child. Police were called at about 5am to a home at 885 Middle Line Road in Milton and arrested Fraser for strangling another person to the point they lost consciousness.
Two Arrested In Saratoga County Thefts
Two people were arrested following a series of thefts that happened in Saratoga County within the last two months. WNYT reports Olijajwuan W. Sheppard, 25, of Schenectady, and Johnson Gooden-Prunty, 29, of Schenectady were arrested on September 7 by New York State Police for involvement in these thefts; one in Clifton Park, the other in Ballston Spa.
Bargain to open Sept 20
Bargain Grocery, a non-profit grocery store in Troy, designed to fight food insecurity is set to officially open on September 20 at 10 a.m. Pastor Michael Servello is the founder and CEO of Bargain Grocery and said “We are 30% below the prices of big box stores. We are helping the people who need it the most. Our whole vision has been going to the most desperate.” Bargain Grocery is located at 558 River Street.
