The Adirondack Balloon Festival took an unexpected turn on Friday when a three-year-old boy was bitten in the face by a dog he tried to pet. Authorities are now searching for the animal involved to confirm whether the child requires rabies treatment. WTEN reports following the bite, the dog’s owner quickly left the scene, ignoring bystanders who reportedly asked her to stay and provide vaccination records.
Mechanicville Man Convicted Of Drug, Gun Charges
A Mechanicville man was convicted on drug and gun charges. WTEN reports 45 year old Charles Brennan was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, two counts of distributing methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Officials said he distributed meth two times from his Mechanicville home.
Run/Walk In Lake George Honors Trooper Who Died From 9/11 Related Illness
Runners and walkers raised more than $42,000 in Lake George Sunday for Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
More than 200 participants turned out at Charles R. Wood Park on a beautiful late morning, reports WNYT.
The event was held in memory of Senior Investigator Nick Georgeadis, who died last year from cancer related to his time at Ground Zero after 9/11.
NYRA Considering July 4th Weekend Racing At Saratoga
The Saratoga Race Course may have special July 4 racing weekend next year. WNYT reports because of the ongoing renovation of Belmont Park, the New York Racing Association is considering racing at Saratoga on the Fourth of July weekend in 2025. If NYRA goes forward with it, racing would be held Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6. The regular Saratoga racing meet will begin on Thursday, July 10.

More than 20 pieces of real estate will be available for purchase when Warren County Real Property Tax Services Office holds its annual live public auction of tax-foreclosed properties on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Warren County Courthouse in Queensbury. Ballston Man Arrested In Road Rage Incident
The New York State Police arrested 25 year old Aaron J. Delano of Ballston on September 10 on multiple gun charges and reckless endangerment following a road rage incident that happened on August 28. State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol got a complaint around 3:05 p.m. reporting that during a road rage incident, a handgun was displayed. Delano was later tracked down at his residence.
Three Teens Charged In Stolen Vehicle Case
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says they charged three teens, aged 14, 16, and 17, for stealing a vehicle, fleeing from police, and reckless driving on Thursday. Officials say they got a call reporting a stolen motor vehicle on Saratoga Drive in Halfmoon at 6:45 a.m. That call lead to a pursuit and ultimately the teens were taken into custody.
99 Restaurant closed until further notice due to a kitchen fire
A fire at the 99 Restaurant caused evacuation of the Aviation Mall in Queensbury Thursday. Movement of kitchen equipment caused a break in the gas line. Firefighters got the blaze under control quickly. The mall reopened, but the restaurant will have to remain closed.
