A jury has found a man guilty of attacking a woman he met on a dating app. Michael Pelletier was convicted Wednesday evening of criminal sex act in the first-degree, reports WNYT, for an incident that took place at a home in Moreau in June 2023. The jury found that he forced himself on the woman, who testified during the two-week trial. He faces up to 25 years in prison when he’s sentenced.
Queensbury Woman Faces Charges Following Domestic Incident
A Queensbury woman is facing a long list of charges after a domestic incident. WNYT reports 32 year old
Chelsea E. Colomb was arrested after an incident on Sept. 10 on Springbrook Way in the town of Kingsbury.
Colomb was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, menacing and obstructing governmental administration.
Teens Charged In Weekend Car Chase And Crash In Halfmoon
Three teens have been charged in connection with a weekend stolen car chase and crash in Halfmoon, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said. The Daily Gazette reports no injuries were reported in the incident, which took place at the Stewart’s On Route 9. The three teens, age 14, 16 and 17, were charged. They were not identified due to their ages.
Gansevoort Man Sentenced For Selling Firearms Without License
A Gansevoort man was sentenced on Tuesday to more than 4 years in prison for selling firearms without a license. 35 year old Jacob Boldt had previously admitted to selling multiple firearms, identifying criminals as good customers for ghost guns and had a stolen firearm, reports WNYT. Boldt was banned from having firearms because of a previous felony conviction.
Queensbury Woman Arrested On Drug Counts
Police have arrested a Queensbury woman for allegedly selling drugs in Fort Edward. WNYT reports 38 year old
Cassandra M. Bentley was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. Bentley was arraigned in Washington County Court. She is currently being held in Washington County Jail on an unrelated charge.
Lake George Elmentary Students Learn About Hot Air Ballooning
Several hundred Lake George Elementary School students learned about hot-air balloons, their history and ballooning navigation when a pilot participating in the Adirondack Balloon Festival visited the school Sept. 20 with his huge, colorful aircraft. Sun Community News reports hot-air balloon pilot Peter Griswold of Atlanta, Georgia inflated his balloon on the school’s soccer field adjacent to the elementary school and spent nearly two hours giving presentations to elementary classes.
Clifton Park Teen Arrested In Queensbury School Threat
A teenager from Clifton Park was arrested Sunday night after allegedly threatening to shoot up Queensbury High School. The Post Star reports State Police, in collaboration with the FBI, arrested a 15-year-old Clifton Park resident who authorities say used Snapchat on Saturday around 7 p.m. to make the threats. State Police have assured the school district there is no reason to be concerned for the safety of the students.
Authorities Seek Owner Of Dog Who Bit Child At Adirondack Balloon Festival
The Adirondack Balloon Festival took an unexpected turn on Friday when a three-year-old boy was bitten in the face by a dog he tried to pet. Authorities are now searching for the animal involved to confirm whether the child requires rabies treatment. WTEN reports following the bite, the dog’s owner quickly left the scene, ignoring bystanders who reportedly asked her to stay and provide vaccination records.
Mechanicville Man Convicted Of Drug, Gun Charges
A Mechanicville man was convicted on drug and gun charges. WTEN reports 45 year old Charles Brennan was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, two counts of distributing methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Officials said he distributed meth two times from his Mechanicville home.
Run/Walk In Lake George Honors Trooper Who Died From 9/11 Related Illness
Runners and walkers raised more than $42,000 in Lake George Sunday for Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
More than 200 participants turned out at Charles R. Wood Park on a beautiful late morning, reports WNYT.
The event was held in memory of Senior Investigator Nick Georgeadis, who died last year from cancer related to his time at Ground Zero after 9/11.
