State Supreme Court Judge Diane Freestone ruled Tuesday that the Saratoga Springs City Council violated Open Meetings Law in October 2023 when it held a vote via email rather than at a public meeting. The Daily Gazette reports Freestone determined the council’s violation of the law by casting votes and approving official actions via email was “unintentional, immaterial and wholly unprejudicial.”
Halfmoon Man Arrested On Arson Charges
A Halfmoon man was arrested on Tuesday following a fire investigation. 37 year old Matthew Fuller was charged with fourth-degree arson, accused of intentionally starting a fire at a home on Cabot Way in Halfmoon on Tuesday, damaging the building. WTEN reports crews from the Clifton Park, Hillcrest, and Mechanicville Fire Departments all responded to the scene.

Families in New York getting food assistance through the federal Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) program should use their remaining funds soon. The benefits start expiring on November 28. South Glens Falls Plans Tree Lighting Celebration
The village of South Glens Falls is hosting its first-ever holiday tree lighting celebration. WNYT reports it’s happening on Dec. 13 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the South Glens Falls Historical Park Gazebo. Before that, the village is hosting its annual holiday parade on Nov. 24.
Lake George Prepping For Polar Plunge
Lake George will be hosting its annual Polar Plunge on November 23. The event will be held at Shepard Beach Park on Canada Street. The 2024 Polar Plunge will support Special Olympics New York, with a fundraising goal of $200,000. Registration can be completed online in advance, or in person from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the day of the event, reports WTEN.
Lake George Board Of Education Discusses Student Athletes’ Arrests
The Lake George Board of Education held its monthly meeting on Tuesday. One topic of discussion was the recent incident where two student-athletes from the Wolverines football team were charged for alleged sexual misconduct. WTEN reports they said the school’s investigation is ongoing even if the Warren County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation is closed. The superintendent also said there will be additional meetings with coaches and student-athletes to go over proper conduct.
Saratoga Biochar Denied Permits
The Moreau town supervisor said all permits for Saratoga Biochar were denied. The town now has 30 days to appeal the decision if they choose to do so. WTEN reports a document from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation said they did not meet standards for an Air State Facility permit, a Solid Waste Facility permit, or a case-specific Beneficial Use Determination.
Queensbury Man Gets Probation In Rape
A Queensbury man was sentenced to 10 years of probation for raping a 14-year-old girl. WNYT reports 25 year old Logan M. Andreadakis was arrested in May after police said he raped a girl he knew. It happened in the town of Greenfield in April 2020. Andreadakis pleaded guilty in September to second-degree rape.
Special Election Planned If Stefanik Ascends To UN Ambassador Post
Less than a week after Rep. Elise Stefanik handily won reelection for another two-year term, she accepted an appointment by the recently reelected President Donald Trump to serve as his ambassador to the United Nations. This appointment still needs to be confirmed by the Senate. But the news of her potentially leaving the seat has already triggered a hurried discussion of a special election being called to fill the vacancy, and speculation of who might run.
South Glens Falls Resident Draws 40 Year Prison Term In Man’s Slaying
A South Glens Falls man will serve 40 years to life in state prison, convicted in the 2023 murder of a Guilderland musician. WRGB reports Jeff Henderson was convicted by a jury earlier this year on one count each of murder in the second degree, and possession of a weapon in the second degree, following the death of Benjamin X. Rowe.
