The off-duty Rutland County sheriff’s deputy involved in the November shootout involving police on Broadway in Saratoga Springs has pleaded not guilty to the eight-count indictment against him. According to WNYT, 25 year old Vito Caselnova is charged with attempted murder, assault, menacing, and reckless endangerment.
Report: Indictment In Saratoga Shoot Out
There’s been an indictment in that big shootout in Saratoga Springs in November. WNYT reports Vito Caselnova, the off-duty Rutland County sheriff’s deputy, is the person who will be arraigned. Caselnova, who lives in Glens Falls, was shot by Saratoga Springs police while he was involved in a shootout with men from the Utica area. Police body camera video showed Caselnova refusing to drop his gun when police ordered him to.
Ballston Spa Man Charged With Forcible Touching
State Police arrested William E. Volinsky, 55, of Ballston, NY, for Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
On November 2, 2022, Troopers were contacted by Saratoga County Child Protective Services. An investigation determined Volinsky inappropriately touched a child under the age of seventeen while in Westerlo, NY. Volinsky was arrested and transported to SP Latham for processing.
Clifton Park Man Facing Child Porn Charges
State Police of Clifton Park, arrested Herbert L. Marlow, 74, of Clifton Park, NY for Possessing a Sexual Performance of a Child. Marlow is accused of possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation which stemmed from a cyber tip, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Marlow was arrested at his home.

Rivers Casino To Hold Job Fair Tuesday
If you’re looking for a new job and don’t mind a bit of a drive from Saratoga, Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady is holding a hiring event on Tuesday. WNYT reports the casino has nearly 50 openings in a variety of departments ranging from entry-level hourly positions to salaried management positions. The event will be held from 10 until 2 at the casino’s event center. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for some positions, and 21 years old for others.
Saratoga County Man Faces Charges In Assault On Infant
A man in Saratoga County is accused of violently assaulting a 3-month-old infant. According to WNYT, it happened on Sunday in Milton and the child was seriously hurt. 19 year old Jacob Krall , of Ballston Spa is now facing assault charges. Krall is related to the victim, investigators said, but they did not specify how.

41 year old Jill Lochner, from Greenfield in Saratoga County, said she’s long had her eye on the 21st Congressional District, has thought about running for years, and now believes she is in the right place to bring a fresh voice to Congress for the district. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, secured her fifth term in November. As a candidate, Stefanik said in 2014 that she would voluntarily limit her tenure in the House to five two-year terms.
Free Narcan Training In Corinth Thursday
Saratoga County will hold a free Narcan training and distribution event on Thursday, March 23, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Corinth Fire House in the Village of Corinth ,16 Saratoga Ave. The Saratogian reports participants will learn how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer nasal Narcan, which takes approximately 10 minutes. Participants will receive a free Narcan rescue kit, which includes two doses of Narcan, a rescue breathing face shield, a certificate of training, a drug disposal system, and a mental health and substance use disorder resource guide.
Albany Man Arrested Stemming From Halfmoon Fight
An Albany man, who was accused of injuring someone during a fight in the town of Halfmoon, has been charged. According to WTEN, The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said Kevin Tanksley, 33, is accused of getting into a fight with two other men at the Stewart’s Shop on Route 9 on Tuesday. Deputies said Tanksley injured someone with a knife. The victim was taken to the hospital. Tanksley was charged with Assault in the Second Degree.
