Albany Woman Cuffed For Cashing State-Issued Checks

State Police at the Capital arrested 30 year old Naelle Marius of Albany for two counts of Grand Larceny and Petit Larceny.
On December 9, 2021, State Police were contacted by the New York Department of State concerning four checks that had been cashed by someone other than the intended recipient. During the investigation, State Police discovered Marius had deposited 56 checks issued to the Department of State totaling $19,445 into her personal bank account. Marius was working as a temporary employee for the agency.

Galway Man Dies From Injuries In Motorcycle Crash

A Galway man is killed after an accident in Argyle on Friday. WNYT reports 45 year old Eric Larson was thrown off his motorcycle after veering into a car on County Route 48 around 5:00 pm. Larson suffered multiple serious injuries and was later pronounced dead. No one else was hurt.

Saratoga County Holding Monkeypox Vax Clinic

The Saratoga County Department of Health is set to hold a monkeypox vaccine clinic on Saturday, July 30. The clinic will be at 6012 County Farm Road in Ballston Spa from 9 a.m. to noon. WTEN reports officials said there are currently no reported cases of monkeypox in the county. The two-dose JYNNEOS vaccine will be given to eligible people who may have had a recent monkeypox exposure.

Local Library Gets State Funds To Update Children’s Section

The Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library is getting a makeover thanks to $25,000 in funding from the state. According to WTEN, the money will help pay for various renovations to the children’s section. The library will be applying for more grants from the state to fund additional projects.

Colonie Man Cuffed After Alleged Threat Made At National Guard Base

State Police arrested 20 year old Thomas Greene from Colonie, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Making a Terroristic Threat, and other counts after he allegedly made a terroristic threat while on the Army National Guard Base in Latham recently. A search of Greene’s home resulted in the State Police seizing an illegally possessed assault rifle, a shotgun, and five large-capacity ammunition feeding devices. Greene was also found to be in violation of an active order of protection preventing him from legally possessing a firearm.

Halfmoon Man Arrested In Sex Assault Incident

At about 7:30pm Thursday night, St. Johnsville police were called for a report of a sexual assault at Soldiers & Sailors Park. Police say a young woman reported she had been lured to a place in the park and sexually assaulted. Pictures of the suspect’s car were widely shared, reports WNYT, and now 26 year old Agha Musaib Kahn of Halfmoon is facing charges of criminal sex act, forcible touching, and unlawful imprisonment.

Corinth Woman Arrested For Drug Sales

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Corinth resident in connection with the sale of narcotics. Police said that Giselle M, Barnes, 54, of Walnut Street was arrested following an investigation. WTEN reports Barnes is accused of knowingly allowing drug sales to occur from her residence in the Village of Corinth. Barnes faces a felony charge of first-degree criminal nuisance.

Two Behind Bars After Arrests On Caroline Street

Two men behind bars in Saratoga after being arrested on Caroline Street early Saturday morning. Police say 30 year old Depree Faulks and 22 year old Samuel Payano were charged with felony drug and weapons counts after police spotted them drinking in a parking lot. Both suspects were arraigned in city court. Payano was remanded on $50,000 cash bail and Faulks was remanded without bail.

Saratoga Woman Accused Of Stealing Money Intended For Veteran

A Saratoga woman has been indicted for theft and misappropriation of funds as a fiduciary of a veteran. WRGB reports 64 year old JoAnne Natalie of Saratoga Springs was indicted earlier this month for misappropriating the funds of a veteran declared legally incompetent, as well as stealing from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Cooling Centers Opening In Saratoga

In Saratoga, the Mayor’s Office has announced that the Salvation Army and Shelters of Saratoga will provide a cooling center for residents to use during current temperatures expected to climb into the 90s this weekend. WTEN reports cooling centers will be open on Saturday and Sunday, July 23-24 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army located at 27 Woodlawn Ave.
