A Saratoga Springs man was sentenced to up to 8 years in prison on rape and child pornography charges. According to WNYT, 28 year old Michael May pleaded guilty in November 2023. He was involved in a scheme in which police said he and his mother would trade nicotine products and vapes for sexually explicit photos and videos of girls via social media. The incidents happened during December 2022,

A Fort Edward man is accused of assaulting a fellow inmate at Washington County Jail. WNYT reports
Tyrone A. Wood, 28, allegedly hit another person when he was being escorted to the booking area at the jail, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Wood was charged with second-degree assault.

The Capital District Transportation Authority will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule on Thanksgiving Day. Regular service will resume on Friday. According to WTEN, Neither the Northway Xpress nor the Thruway Xpress will operate on Thanksgiving. The CDTA sales window will also be closed on Thursday and Friday and will reopen on Monday, Dec. 2.

New York State Police reported the arrest of a Florida man after an incident at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory at the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site in Milton. Rolando Perez-Ruiz, 33, of Odessa, is facing numerous charges.
On November 20 around 12:15 p.m., an investigation determined that during a routine security inspection, multiple illegally owned guns, gun parts, weapon attachments, and ammunition were allegedly located in Perez-Ruiz’s vehicle.

A South Glens Falls man was sentenced on Monday to 14 years in prison for robbing a pharmacy at knifepoint.
WNYT reports 34 year old Eric McIntosh, was arrested after robbing the Rite Aid store on Route 50 in Wilton on June 3, 2021. McIntosh took more than $3,000 worth of medication. McIntosh pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court in October 2023 to felony first-degree robbery.

21-year-old Nicholas J. Towers of Wilton was arrested by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office following a disturbance in Wilton that happened last week on Adirondack Circle. According to WNYT, Towers is accused of hitting a person in the face, which this violated an order of protection in the process, said police.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office say they arrested Mark S. LaRock Jr., 29, of Halfmoon on criminal mischief charges. WNYT reports the Sheriff’s Office went to an active domestic incident call on Windy Circle in Halfmoon. LaRock is accused of intentionally damaging property of another person in an amount exceeding $250, by stabbing the tires on a motor vehicle with a knife.

Non-payment of bills for municipal water and sewer services provided by the town of Warrensburg is at a record high, which is causing financial distress for the local government. Sun Community News reports this year, the town of Warrensburg has to operate its water and sewer departments for four months without having the $196,425 in arrears that should have been paid, Warrensburg Town Supervisor K

There are no outside chairs allowed if you’re heading to a Live Nation event at Saratoga Performing Arts Center next year. The same policy goes for any other venue that partners with Live Nation. Now if you want a chair, you will have to rent one at $15 per chair each show. Personal chairs will still be allowed for SPAC produced events, including Saratoga Jazz Festival, Philadelphia Orchestra, and New York City Ballet.

Adirondack Winery in Queensbury raised over $22,000 during its Drink Pink breast cancer awareness fundraiser. These funds will benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Adirondacks, an event organized by the American Cancer Society. The fundraiser went from mid-September to the end of October through wine, accessory, and raffle ticket sales.
