Motorcycle Passenger Dies In Northway Accident

A Fulton County biker hit a truck while riding intoxicated near the the Adirondack Northway Sunday, resulting in the fatal ejection of a passenger on his motorcycle, state police reported. The Daily Gazette reports officials responded around 7:52 p.m. to a vehicle crash at the exit 15 off-ramp in Wilton. Amanda Sullivan, 43, of the city of Johnstown, was sent to Saratoga Hospital where she later died from her injuries. Police say Sullivan was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Richard Irelan, age 45, of Johnstown in Fulton County, who was driving his motorcycle on the off-ramp at Exit 15 when he collided with a pickup truck.

Galway Man Charged After Altercation

State Police of Saratoga arrested Dennis O. Walsh, 46, of Galway, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Mischief and Menacing. Police say Walsh got into a verbal argument with a victm after which he allegedly returned with a rope with a metal clasp on it and struck a vehicle operated by the victim, causing damage. He then fled the location in a vehicle but was located and stopped on State Route 50 in Ballston.

Cannabis Dispensary Public Hearing Thursday

TenCees, LLC’s request for a special permit to create what would be Saratoga County’s first cannabis dispensary will be the topic of a public hearing before the Saratoga Springs Planning Board on Thursday. The Daily Gazette reports the hearing will be held at 6 p.m. in City Hall regarding the proposed opening Reverie Dispensary at 95 West Ave. in a 2,200-square-foot space, according to documents filed with the Planning Board.

Guided Trolley Tours Of Saratoga In August

During August, you can take a guided trolley tour of Saratoga Springs. WNYT reports the tours are hosted Tuesdays and Thursdays. The tours will include historic sights and discussions along Broadway, North Broadway, the Skidmore campus, the high rock area, Saratoga Racecourse, and Union Avenue.

Track To Honor First Responders Thursday

The New York Racing Association, Inc. will honor police officers, firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians for their service to the community at the Saratoga Race Course on Thursday, July 27 for First Responder Day. WRGB reports all first responders will receive free admission to Saratoga Race Course with their proper identification. One of Thursday’s races will also be named in their honor.

Police Say 16 Year Old Driver Had Nine Passengers, Two In Trunk

A 16-year-old was arrested after driving over 100 miles per hour drunk and being pulled over with nine passengers in the car, say State Police. WTEN reports police say while patrolling State Route 20 in New Lebanon, they saw a 2019 Honda Civic going over 100 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone. An investigation found the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was driving with nine passengers, two in the trunk, four of which were under the age of 16.

Limo Operator’s Property In Wilton Sold

As Nauman Hussain, the operator of the limo company at the center of the crash that killed 20 people serves his state prison sentence, his family property in Wilton has been sold to satisfy an unrelated court judgment. WNYT reports Hussain’s family owned the Crest Inn Suites on Route 9 in Wilton, a long-stay motel for people getting public assistance. They often ran their limo company from that location.
