Job Fair For Veterans, Active Duty Service Members

The Naval Support Facility Field House will host a Career Fair for active-duty service members and veterans. WNYT reports it will be October 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jason Collins, Chair of the Veterans Business Council of The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, invites job seekers to attend.

Moreau Lake State Park Reopens

Moreau Lake State Park reopened Thursday, four days after a 9-year-old girl was abducted Saturday night while camping with her family. According to WNYT, there will be increased Park Police and New York State Police patrols, along with more security cameras being installed. Plus, more Park Rangers will be in place for the Columbus Day weekend.

Ballston Spa Man Charged With Trying To Meet Child For Sex

A Ballston Spa man is under arrest. 40 year old Thomas A. Belisario is charged with attempted criminal sex act and attempted use of a child in a sexual performance. WNYT reports Belisario is accused of making arrangements and traveling to an agreed upon location in Halfmoon to meet up with who he believed was a child. He was actually corresponding with police.

Klein Found Guilty In Rabadi Murder

Jacob Klein was convicted on Thursday of second-degree murder in the killing of Philip Rabadi. According to WNYT, Rabadi was found dead at his New Scotland home on April 13, 2022. Police say that Klein had a previous relationship with Rabadi’s wife, Elana Radin, and was jealous of their relationship. Sentencing is set for Dec. 8 in Albany County Court.

Court Appearance Delayed For Sena Abduction Suspect

The man accused of kidnapping a 9-year-old Saratoga County girl will not be in court Friday as was originally scheduled. WNYT reports the court-appointed attorney for Craig Ross Jr. asked for an adjournment. The case has been rescheduled for Nov. 21 at 11:30 a.m. in Milton Town Court. Ross is being held in the Saratoga County Jail. Where he is on constant supervision.

Text Messages Revealed Concerning BLM Protests In Saratoga

A string of text messages among Saratoga Springs officials in July and September of 2021 reveal several pleas for the arrest of Saratoga Black Lives Matter members, with one even stating “I hate these people.” The Daily Gazette reports then-Public Safety Commissioner Robin Dalton texted then-Police Chief Shane Crooks six times calling for the arrest of the demonstrators.

Officer Who Arrested Sena Kidnapping Suspect 24 Years Ago Reacts

The man accused of kidnapping 9 year old Charlotte Sena was arrested for a DWI in 1999 and the officer who made the arrest says it’s wonderful that something which happened 24 years ago helped save the little girl. That arrest was made by Saratoga Springs Police Officer Kristen VanWert. Fingerprints taken from suspect Craig Nelson Ross that day were used to tie him to Charlotte’s abduction.

Empire State University Hires Diversity Officer

Empire State University announced it hired Xiomara Giordano to the position of assistant vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion and chief diversity officer. The Saratogian reports Giordano will be based in the university’s Saratoga Springs location beginning Nov. 1.

The Naval Support Facility in Saratoga Springs and the Veterans Business Council of The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, along with Albany Stratton VA Medical Center and Fleet and Family Support Center, will host a Career Fair on Friday, Oct. 20. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Field House of the Naval Support Facility, located at 19 JF King Dr. in Saratoga Springs.

Opening Arguments In Wrongful Death Suit Delayed

Opening statements in the wrongful death lawsuit of Darryl Mount were delayed on Tuesday. One of the attorneys had an emergency and the jury was dismissed for the day. WNYT reports Mount’s family is suing the Saratoga Springs Police Department, officers and the city self. Court is scheduled to resume Wednesday.
