The village of Ballston Spa will hold its Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting on Friday. WNYT reports the parade will kick off on the north side of Milton Avenue at 6:30 p.m. and march to West High Street. There will be floats and firetrucks. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive after the parade and light the tree. There will be toy collections where people can bring new, unwrapped toys to the festivities.
Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Saratoga Is Biggest In Six Years
The organizers of the big Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Saratoga Springs are celebrating their biggest event in six years.
More than 3,600 people participated in the annual Christopher Dailey Turkey Trot, reports WNYT.
The Dailey Foundation supports youth supports and other children’s activities throughout Saratoga County.
Mark and Maria Dailey started the foundation in memory of their son.
Shen Student Caught With BB Gun On Campus
A 15-year-old Shenendehowa student was caught with a BB gun on campus Monday morning, police said. The boy has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor weapons possession. According to WNYT, a student at High School East learned about the gun and told administrators, the district said. Investigators quickly found the student and BB gun. The boy was released to a parent.
Symphony In Saratoga
The Schenectady-Saratoga Symphony Orchestra is set to return to the Great Hall at Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs for its fourth year performing “Poinsettia Pops” on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. The performance will feature holiday music including “A Christmas Medley” and “Sleigh Ride,” with selections from “The Nutcracker” and “A Christmas Carol.”

Missing Saratoga Teen Found
Police say a missing teen identified only as Jaylee has been located, and is safe. She had last been seen early Saturday morning on the east side of the city wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, leggings and no shoes. No word on where she was located.
Halfmoon Man Arrested For Assault
A Halfmoon man was arrested on Sunday following a physical altercation, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Andrew May, 77, was charged with two counts of assault. WTEN reports police responded to a disturbance call at 2:41 a.m. near Halfmoon Circle. The investigation determined that May allegedly struck a woman in the face and head with a metal cup and a metal spoon.
Inaugural ‘Stuff The Bus’ Effort A Success
The inaugural Stuff the Bus effort hosted by the Price Chopper Market 32 in Malta ran from Nov. 9 to Nov. 15. Shoppers were encouraged to purchase pre-packed grocery bags at $10 or $20, with all donations going to Franklin Community Center. The Saratogian reports the campaign was a huge success, culminating in a large school bus completely filled with hundreds of bags of highly requested food and toiletry donations.
3,600 Turn Out For Turkey Trot In Saratoga
More than 3,600 people took to the streets in Saratoga Springs Thursday morning for the 22nd Christopher Dailey Foundation 5k Turkey Trot. WRGB reports The Christopher Dailey Foundation has helped build an entire gym for children to play sports, and gives to several organizations from their events with the Turkey Trot raising around $60,000.
Boil Water Advisory For Mechanicville
Mechanicville residents are being advised to boil their water after a water main break. The break happened Wednesday on Underwood Avenue, reports WNYT. Mechanicville Police said water service has been restored, but they are asking people to boil their water for a minute before using it.
