Hundreds of classic cars and trucks are making their way to Ballston Spa for the 22 year of “The Way We Were” car show sponsored by the Ballston Spa Business & Professional Association. The show is tomorrow from 9AM to 4 PM along Front Street. In addition to the cars, there will be food, vendors, a kids’ zone. activities and live music.
Beloved K-9 passes away
A retired police K-9 in Saratoga County is being mourned. Jagger worked with Deputy Nic Denno from 2015 to 2019, and was living with Denno’s family. Jagger was trained in patrol tracking and narcotics detection, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Jagger died at the vet on Monday after a medical emergency. He was 9 years old.
Stewart’s buys Jolley’s
Stewart’s Shops, based in Ballston Spa, has signed an agreement to purchase the assets of Jolley Associates convenience store chain. The acquisition, which requires federal regulatory approval, is expected to close by the end of 2024. Terms of the deal remain confidential. The acquisition brings together two longtime family businesses.
Canadian water company opening a facility in Saratoga Springs
Soleno, a Canadian leader in water management is opening its first U.S. factory, in Saratoga Springs offering sustainable solutions that address the aging water management infrastructure in North America. Soleno is investing more than $22 million in this Saratoga Springs 45 thousand square feet facility. A second phase adding 25,000 square feet, is currently being reviewed.
DMV Says Fake ID’s At Concert Venues Like SPAC, Trending Downward
The New York State DMV released a new report Thursday that reveals a continued downward trend in citations for attempting to buy alcoholic beverages with fake IDs during summer concerts in places like SPAC.
The annual enforcement drive ended Sept. 29, conducted with the State Liquor Authority and local law enforcement, seeks to prevent underage drinking and driving by checking for fake IDs at summer concert venues.

Classical Musicians Return To Skidmore For Residency
A group of the finest young professional classical musicians based out of Carnegie Hall is returning for their biannual residency at Skidmore College, now in its 18th year. Their Oct. 25 performance at Skidmore’s Arthur Zankel Music Center, occurring at the end of the five-day residency, will spotlight the music of South Africa. It begins at 7:30pm that night in the Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall.

Baskets For Ben Fundraiser In Queensbury
The Ben Osborn Memorial Fund is holding its 13th Annual Baskets for Ben fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 25, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Queensbury VFW Post 6196, 32 Luzerne Road, Queensbury. There will be raffles and an auction. The fund was created in loving memory of CPL Osborn who was killed in Afghanistan, June 15, 2010, while serving in the United States Army during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Clifton Park Panhandling Crackdown
Lawmakers in Clifton Park are seeking to crackdown on “aggressive panhandling.” The Daily Gazette reports legislation introduced Monday aims “to keep public places safe and attractive for use by all members of the community” by prohibiting certain actions while soliciting and prohibiting panhandling in certain areas of town, including near ATMs, bank entrances and other publicly accessible areas.
