3,600 Turn Out For Turkey Trot In Saratoga

More than 3,600 people took to the streets in Saratoga Springs Thursday morning for the 22nd Christopher Dailey Foundation 5k Turkey Trot. WRGB reports The Christopher Dailey Foundation has helped build an entire gym for children to play sports, and gives to several organizations from their events with the Turkey Trot raising around $60,000.

Boil Water Advisory For Mechanicville

Mechanicville residents are being advised to boil their water after a water main break. The break happened Wednesday on Underwood Avenue, reports WNYT. Mechanicville Police said water service has been restored, but they are asking people to boil their water for a minute before using it.

A water main break in Mechanicville Wednesday shut down water service for a time as crews made repairs. It was reported on Underwood Avenue and after service was restored, a boil water advisory was put in place. No word on how many homes were affected.

Christopher Dailey 5K Turkey Trot

It is the 22nd annual Christopher Dailey 5K Turkey Trot Thursday as more than 2,000 run or walk through the city and onto the campus of Skidmore College. The Dailey Foundation supports youth sports in memory of Christopher Dailey of Wilton, who was just 8 years old when he died suddenly on Nov. 23, 2001.

Marist Poll Reveals NY’ers Think Quality Of Life Is An Issue

A new Marist Poll shows many New Yorkers think they’re facing a diminished quality of life. WTEN reports the poll shows that 59% of New Yorkers think that quality of life deteriorated over the last year. The rest believe it has stayed the same (39%) or gotten better (11%). Broken up by political affiliation, 78% of Republicans noted decreased quality of life, compared to 67% of non-enrolled voters and only 46% of Democrats.

Utica Man Cops Plea To Attempted Assault In Saratoga Shootout

One of the men from Utica involved in a downtown Saratoga Springs fight that ended in a shootout pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
According to WNYT, Christopher Castillo pleaded guilty to misdemeanor attempted assault. He was ordered to pay a $175 fine and $75 in surcharges by Saratoga Springs City Court Judge Jeffrey Wait.

DA Hires Attorney To Appeal Indictment Dismissal In Saratoga Shootout

The Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office has appointed an Albany attorney to appeal the dismissal of the indictment against the man involved in a shootout in downtown Saratoga Springs last year. WNYT reports Matthew Hug has been hired to file the appeal of Judge Jim Murphy’s dismissal of the charges against Vito Caselnova. The off-duty Rutland County Sheriff’s deputy was seen on video firing several shots.

Officials Warn Of Health Insurance Enrollment Scams

New York State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald and Attorney General Letitia James recently cautioned New Yorkers about health insurance enrollment scams as 2024 enrollment through the NY State of Health is underway.
The NY State of Health, New York’s Health Plan Marketplace, offers one-stop health insurance shopping for both public health programs and commercial health insurance. They say scams involving the process have been on the rise.
