A father of six was killed when his construction van tipped over onto him in West Sand Lake in Rensselaer County.
WNYT reports 51 year old Vincent Corina was the owner of a siding company called Platinum Enterprise Services. He was delivering equipment for a siding job at a home on Oak Hill Road when the van tipped over on an icy driveway, trapping him and tragically killing him.
Monahan Trial Postponed Until Tuesday
There has been an unexpected development on Sunday related to the Washington County murder trial of Kevin Monahan. WNYT reports the driveway shooting trial has been adjourned until Tuesday. Closing arguments were supposed to take place Monday morning, and then the jury of 8 men and 4 women was to begin deliberating the fate of Kevin Monahan of Hebron.
Narcan Training In Clifton Park
Saratoga County will be holding free Narcan training and distribution on January 25 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library. Participants will learn how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer nasal Narcan, which can be life-saving. WTEN reports participants receive a free rescue kit with two doses of Narcan, a rescue breathing face shield, a certificate of training, a drug disposal system, and a mental health and substance use disorder resource guide.

Doc Who Evaluated Monahan Won’t Take Stand In Trial
A doctor who evaluated the man accused of shooting and killing a Schuylerville woman in his driveway won’t be allowed to take the stand. Kevin Monahan, 66, is charged with the shooting death of Kaylin Gillis last April. Gillis was a passenger in a vehicle that had mistakenly turned up his Hebron driveway last April. WNYT reports defense attorney Kurt Mausert sought to include the evaluation of Monahan. Prosecutors oppose the inclusion of the information.
Road Closures Tuesday In Clifton Park
Clifton Country Road and Clifton Park Center Road will be closed for repairs on Tuesday, January 23. This closure will be between McDonough Way and Route 146. WTEN reports the Clifton Park Highway Department will have detours available during the closure. Drivers will be able to enter the mall through the signaled intersection south of the construction zone at McDonough Way.

The Belmont Stakes will be at the Saratoga Race Course for the first time in the race’s history in June. After a New York Democratic congressman introduced a resolution on Wednesday to censure North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik for her support of Jan. 6 insurrectionists, a Stefanik spokesman is going on the offensive, calling the motion “baseless” and dredging up allegations against the downstate Dem who made the resolution. Man Sentenced In Pair Of Bank Robberies
A man was sentenced to 17 years in prison Tuesday for two 2019 armed bank robberies. According to WNYT, 30 year old
Ulysses Jessie Walls admitted last August that he robbed a Trustco Bank in Albany and an M&T Bank in North Greenbush in 2019. Around $150,000 was stolen in the Trustco robbery and more than $10,000 in cash was stolen from M&T Bank.
