Saratoga Springs is cracking down on phony rideshare drivers. WNYT reports more cameras, more law enforcement, and new signs are being implemented to hopefully drive the the fakes out of twon, including signage that reads, “This area is under surveillance. If you’re caught with doing unregulated taxi service, you will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.” Authorities ran a detail on Frank Sullivan Place and outside Siro’s. Two unlicensed drivers were arrested.

Pair Charged After Schuylerville Break In
Two people are facing charges in connection with a Schuylerville burglary. Police went to a disturbance call on Church Street in Schuylerville. Edward J. Fish, 42, and Colleen M. Stewart, 38, of Malta, allegedly unlawfully entered a Schuylerville residence, reports WNYT. They were each charged with burglary and petit larceny.
Two Facing Drug Counts After Moreau Burglary Call
Two people are facing drug charges after police responded to a burglary call in Moreau. WNYT reports police went to Lamplighter Acres on Aug. 1st and say 42 year old Steven M. Fitzgerald of Lake Luzerne, and 51 year old Melanie L. Chaney, were allegedly found with cocaine and other drugs. Both were charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
Sentencing Delayed In Case Of Man Convicted Of Stalking Woman With Plane
Sentencing has been delayed for a Schuylerville man convicted of stalking a woman with his plane. WNYT reports 65 year old
Michael Arnold was supposed to be sentenced Tuesday for nine counts of criminal contempt for using his single-engine airplane at Bennington Airport to stalk a woman.
Arrest Warrant Issued For Lola Saratoga Burglary Suspect
Police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in December’s burglary of Lola Saratoga. According to WNYT, 34 year old
Toron M. Melton is accused of taking luxury handbags from the store on Broadway on Dec. 12th. A warrant has been issued for Melton’s arrest. He is facing charges of burglary and grand larceny.
Saratoga Springs Police Warn Of Possible Rideshare Imposters
The Saratoga Springs Police Department is once again reminding people planning to use rideshare services to remain vigilant, make sure they are using drivers associated with the apps like Uber and Lyft and follow safety protocols. The Daily Gazette reports the warning comes as the department has received reports of people posing as rideshare drivers or taking money without using rideshare apps in the downtown and Saratoga Race Course areas.
Mechanicville Man Facing Drug Counts
A Mechanicville man was arrested on Aug. 1st and accused of illegal possession of narcotics. WRGB reports 32 year old Adam C. Batto is accused of selling and possessing methamphetamine, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
He is charged with 2 counts each of criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Three Saratoga County Businesses Fail Underage Drinking Compliance
A joint underage drinking compliance detail took place in Saratoga County last week between the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Liquor Authority (SLA). The businesses that failed the compliance check were:

Ballston Spa Man Charged With Violating Protection Order
A Ballston Spa man is facing charges after a domestic incident. According to WNYT, 56 year old William K. Wilson allegedly entered a residence in the town of Milton on Aug. 1 at around 5:30 p.m. He remained in the residence unlawfully and in violation of an order of protection. Wilson also is accused of damaging a cell phone and then stealing it.
Man Apprehended After Police Pursuit
A Saratoga Springs man was arrested Tuesday after a series of incidents dating back to March. The initial incident happened on April 10 in Halfmoon, when a business reported to troopers that there had been a shoplifting and 43 year old Carmen J. Daniele was identified as the suspect. Police spotted Daniele last week and a chase ensued that went through Waterford and Clifton Park, eventually ending in Halfmoon, where Daniele was apprehended after trying to flee on foot.
