A 12-year veteran of UAlbany Police is now out of the hospital after being hit by a car on campus, early Tuesday morning. Four men were arrested. Anthony Taylor, 19, of Albany, has been charged with attempted aggravated assault on a police officer, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, all felonies He is also facing misdemeanors of unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, reckless driving and traffic violations.

After six years, Howe Caverns is holding its last “Naked in a Cave” event. Ukranian Festival Sept 14
The Capital Region branch of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) will be presenting its Ukrainian Festival at the Polish Community Center in Albany. The event is scheduled for September 14. Festivities will run from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a dance with live music from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. All proceeds from the festival will be donated toward humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine.
Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library Unveils Sensory Room
The Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library has unveiled its new sensory room during a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday. It’s believed to be just the second such space in a public library in New York State. The Daily Gazette reports sensory rooms are designed to be a comforting space for those who have sensory processing difficulties, as a way to provide a safe space for those with neurodivergent disorders like autism.
Brown Bag Lunch Series In Saratoga
The Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center and the Saratoga Springs Public Library are set to start their new Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series. The 2024 series is designed to highlight different parts of the city’s history, culture and traditions. WTEN reports with four lectures this season, each program will begin at noon at the Dutcher Community Room at the public library. All lectures are free and open to anyone in the community.

Police Release Photos Of Suspects In Saratoga Vehicle Thefts
Saratoga Springs Police have released eight photos of possible suspects in a string of thefts from vehicles. According to WNYT, the thieves have targeted neighborhoods in and around Ingersoll and Old Schuylerville roads. They stole wallets and cash and sometimes went into unlocked garages. Saratoga Springs Police Seize Drugs, Make Arrest Wednesday
Saratoga Springs Police seized over 5 ounces of cocaine, some containing fentanyl, and arrested a city man on Wednesday morning. WNYT reports officers used K-9s to help them searched a residence on Caroline Street. and arrested 55 year old John J. Campanella, charging him eith criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Saratoga PD Probes Car Break Ins
Saratoga Springs Police are looking into several larcenies from cars near Ingersoll Road, Old Schuylerville Road, Ruggles Road, and Loudon Road. Police said some suspects went into the victim’s garages overnight. Monday. WTEN reports police are asking the public to assist in the investigation by sharing any security footage from their homes from Tuesday between midnight and 5 a.m.
