A proposed subdivision that has stirred controversy for months in the rural western portion of Clifton Park was voted down Tuesday over concerns the project would interfere with farming operations of a neighboring orchard.
According to the Daily Gazette, the town’s Planning Board, in a 4-2 vote, denied plans to subdivide 50 acres of a 100-acre parcel at 68 Droms Road into 23 parcels to build single family homes brought forward by developer Erik Kohler Homes LLC.

Man Charged With Pointing Gun In Wilton
An Albany County man is accused of pointing a handgun at a person in the town of Wilton. 24 year old Wayne D. Miller allegedly got into an argument with a person he knew in the area of Heritage Way and showed the weapon. He left the location in a vehicle before police arrived, but was caught along Sitterly Road in Clifton Park.

Firefighters Knock Back Flames At Abandoned Home In Clifton Park
Multiple crews responded to a structure fire in Clifton Park Wednesday night. It took place on Farm to Market Road. WTEN reports officials said the house was abandoned, so their focus is on containing the fire.
Crews are unsure if the building will be salvageable. No word on a cause.

Queensbury Man Accused Of Stealing From Walmart
Police have arrested a Queensbury man for allegedly stealing from Walmart after he had been banned for similar incidents. WNYT reports 51 year old Daniel O. Rawson allegedly stole from the store in Wilton on Aug. 2. Rawson was charged with burglary and petit larceny. He was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail.

Man Killed In Police Involved Shooting In Saratoga
One person has died in a police-involved shooting in Saratoga County. According to WNYT, it started around 4 p.m. Wednesday, as police searched for a man who threatened to hurt himself. That man, 48 year old James Dellea of Hillsdale was found in the parking lot of the Albany – Saratoga Speedway on State Route 9 in Malta. He drove a distance, eventually pulling over at Bethel Saratoga, 3246 Route 9 in Saratoga Springs. The man displayed refused to leave his car and when he displayed a weapon, a trooper shot Dellea, killing him.

Summer Workforce Honored At Six Flags Great Escape
Warren County Department of Workforce Development’s third annual Tourism Summer Workforce Celebration drew nearly 350 people from more than 50 local businesses to Six Flags Great Escape and Hurricane Harbor on Monday night for a free night at the amusement park. Donations and $5 ticket sales for those who wanted to bring a guest raised about $1,000 for Family Services Association of Glens Falls.
