Mechanicville Man Draws Priston Time For Stabbing

A Mechanicville man was sentenced on Monday to 2 to 4 years in prison for breaking into a woman’s residence and stabbing her. WNYT reports 48 year old George S. Tinoco was arrested on Jan. 12 after police said he climbed through the window of a home on Knaber Road in the town of Malta in the early morning hours. A child was there when the stabbing happened, according to police.

Stefanik, GOP Lawmakers Protest Amtrak Service Reduction Plans

In Saratoga, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik co-wrote a letter with New York Republican Representatives to Amtrak President Roger Harris expressing deep concern over Amtrak’s planned reduction of service and lengthy delays beginning on Nov. 11 due to the East River Tunnel rehabilitation project. The lawmakers urged Amtrak to commit to a 60-day delay in implementation of these changes in service during the busy holiday season to avoid disrupting the lives of thousands of New Yorkers and tourists to the region.

Alleged Sex Misconduct Incident Cancels Wolverines Football Season

The Warrensburg-Lake George-Bolton Wolverines football season has been canceled due to an alleged incident of sexual misconduct involving members of the team which is ranked No. 1 in the state. Sun Community News reports the incident “involved inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature toward a student” several weeks ago on a school bus.

Saratoga extends early voting hours

The Saratoga County Board of Elections is extending early voting hours due to high turnout. All locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Saratoga County Board of Elections Commissioners say the Greenfield location has the lowest traffic so far and recommend voters go to that location, if able. Krall sentenced in assault on 3 month old son

The Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office announced that Jacob Krall, 21, of Milton, was found guilty hitting and severely injuring his 3-month-old son in March 2023. He was convicted of one count of assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, after a two-week trial. He was found not guilty of a separate count of endangering the welfare of a child. He faces up to seven years in prison when sentenced.

Man robs restaurant caught by Saratoga police

A Saratoga Springs man is accused of breaking into a restaurant and stealing money. State Police said David Gregson, 57, broke into a building on Maple Avenue in Greenfield on October 26 just after 11:30 p.m. He took money and left. Police found him a few hours later in Saratoga Springs. Gregson was charged with burglary and criminal mischief. He was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail.
