Governor Kathy Hochul has announced ground breaking for Plug Power’s newest manufacturing facility, located at the Vista Technology Campus in Slingerlands, Albany County. The company has committed to creating 1,633 new jobs at its latest Capital Region location, complementing New York State’s push toward clean, renewable and sustainable energy. The new location supports the company’s efforts to significantly expand its line of GenDrive fuel cell systems, which are used to power electric motors in the electric mobility market.

Clifton Park Doc Sentenced For Unnecessary Prescriptions
A doctor draws three years and a month in prison for distributing drugs to people for no legitimate medical purpose. WTEN reports the U.S. Department of Justice sentenced 65 year old Adrian Morris of Clifton Park after he admitted that he dispensed controlled substances, including Adderall and Xanax, for no legitimate medical purpose, to people he never met or treated. Morris also admitted that he had personal relationships with women patients seeking treatment.

Mechanicville Superintendent’s Future Appears To Hang In The Balance
The future of Mechanicville City School District’s superintendent Bruce Potter is up for debate Thursday. The district’s website lists a recommendation to appoint an acting superintendent that would be considered effective as of Monday, February 28.
An approval of Potter’s paid administrative leave starting Friday is also on the agenda. Also, a webpage for the superintendent on the district’s site is no longer available.
Double M Rodeos In Malta Coming To A Close
Double M Rodeos in Malta are coming to an end after more than 40 years. The owners have said on social media they are stopping that part of their business to gain some free time. WNYT reports the Double M Western Store on Route 67 in Malta will remain open as will popular haunted hayrides when that time rolls around.
Doctor Drops Mask Lawsuit Against Butcher
A doctor who sued a Saratoga County butcher for requiring patrons to wear a mask is now dropping the suit. Initially, Dr. David Kwiat had said forcing someone to wear a mask is not only illegal, it’s scientifically ignorant. With the state mask mandates now lifted, Kwiat has informed the butcher he’s dropping the lawsuit, reports WNYT.
Man Arrested In Fatal Hit And Run
A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit and run Sunday night in Saratoga County. John Lincoln-Lynch of Moreau is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal incident. He has a $100,000 cash/$200,000 bond or a $500,000 partially secured bond. WNYT reports deputies found the victim, Paul Trombley, in the road at the intersection of Main and Fifth Streets in South Glens Falls at about 7:30 Sunday night.
Snow Emergency In Saratoga Springs
The City of Saratoga Springs has declared a snow emergency in anticipation of an upcoming winter storm. WTEN reports the snow emergency is in effect from 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25 through 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27. During a snow emergency, all vehicles must be moved to a cleared or plowed area every twelve hours. City streets with alternate side parking should be moved in accordance with the posted guidelines.
County Jail Inmate Caught With Contraband
A Saratoga Springs man already behind bars is facing new charges. Authorities say they caught 39 year old Paul Haggerty with a battery, tobacco and a pencil in the Saratoga County Jail. WNYT reorts investigators with the sheriff’s department say Haggerty tried to swallow the tobacco when confronted by staff at the jail.
Suspected Serial Robber Arrested
A suspected serial robber is under arrest in Saratoga County. Justin Rock is connected to robbing four stores in the Spa City from Saturday night to Monday, and then early Tuesday night he held up a liquor store in Ballston Spa, say police. He was arrested in Ballston Spa Tuesday night and arraigned Wednesday in Saratoga Springs City Court.
