The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Shane A. Morris, 29, of Valatie for a sexual assault incident that happened on November 8 in the Town of Ballston. According to WNYT, Morris is accused of engaging in forcible sexual contact with another person and of violating a court order by placing the protected person in reasonable fear of physical injury.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Caleb S. DeJong, 19, of Halfmoon in connection to a larceny that happened on October 26 in Halfmoon. WNYT reports officials say investigation into the larceny from October culminated with the arrest of DeJong that happened on November 7 for stealing two vehicles from a business in Halfmoon.

The local Alzheimer’s Association Northeastern New York chapter is hosting a free Caregiver Conference at Courtyard by Marriott Lake George on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Family members and friends serving as Alzheimer’s caregivers will hear from local experts and have the chance to connect with one another and receive support.

U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik’s name is being floated to possibly join President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet.
CNN is reporting Stefanik, a Republican and House GOP conference chair, is being strongly considered as United Nations ambassador. Stefanik is also being considered to fill the position of education secretary, according to Politico.

Another member of the Lake George-Warrensburg-Bolton football team has been arrested, reports WNYT.
The Warren County Sheriff’s office has arrested a 17-year-old player related to that same incident on the school bus In August. He’s been charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child. Because of his age, the 17-year-old has been petitioned to family court.

The former public works commissioner for Saratoga Springs and the current deputy commissioner have been charged with official misconduct. WNYT reports Saratoga Springs Police issued tickets to Jason Golub and Deputy Public Works Commissioner Joseph O’Neill on Nov. 1. Golub and O’Neill are accused of using city services and/or employees for their personal misconduct. They are both set to appear in Saratoga Springs City Court on Nov. 21.

The Attorney General’s Office has released body-cam footage as part of an investigation into the death of a man police shot in September in Saratoga County earlier this year. WNYT reports James Dellea, of Hillsdale, was shot and killed by police on Sept. 11. The incident started around 4 p.m., when police were looking for Dellea because he had threatened to harm himself.

Sixteen members of Lake George High School’s Interact Club and Student Council placed thousands of flags that will be on display from now through Nov. 11, Veterans Day, when Fort William Henry hosts its annual ceremony. Veterans of the U.S. armed forces and active military personnel from Warren County, the Adirondacks, and across the eastern U.S. will be honored at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 during Fort William Henry’s “Field of Flags” ceremony. The public is invited to participate.

More than 100 local businesses in Saratoga County are teaming up again to support people in need this holiday season. Toys for Toga launched its 12th annual fundraiser on Wednesday. WTEN reports they collect toys and other items for children of all ages, including teenagers, a group that advocates said is often overlooked. Businesses across the county have placed collection bins near their front doors.

A Saratoga County man was sentenced on Monday to 5 years for rape. According to WNYT, 54 year old
James J. Forgett of Clifton Park, was arrested in August for a crime that took place in the summer of 2018. Forgett pleaded guilty in August to first-degree rape. He also must serve 20 years of post-release supervision.
