A job fair will be held at the Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls on Thursday, Oct. 10. WNYT reports at least a dozen businesses are expected to attend. You should bring several copies of your resume. There will also be a workshop at the event to get feedback and update your resumes.

Multi Car Crash On Northway In Saratoga Tuesday Afternoon

A person sustained serious injuries after a crash on the Northway in Saratoga Springs Tuesday afternoon.
WRGB reports just before 5pm, two cars crashed near the exit 14 ramp, and one of the vehicles rolled over. Then, two more cars crashed into each other as they came across the initial crash.
The crashes caused a traffic backup on I-87 northbound.

No Tax Increase In Saratoga Budget Proposal

The Saratoga Springs Finance Commissioner presented the city’s $62.5 million budget to the public Tuesday, boasting a plan that doesn’t impact the taxpayers. WRGB reports $36.4 million of the proposed budget goes toward the Department of Public Safety, taking up 58% of the city’s overall budget. The second largest piece of the budget goes towards the DPW department.

Saratoga Man Draws 10 Year Prison Term In Stabbing

A Saratoga man was sentenced on Tuesday to 10 years in prison for stabbing a person in the neck with a knife.
WNYT reports 37 year old Ryan Danaher , had pleaded guilty in July to two counts of first-degree assault and menacing for the Nov. 17 incident in Schuylerville. Police said Danaher knew the victim, who had serious injuries.

21 Arrests Made In Area Drug Trafficking Ring

Twenty-one people have been arrested in a major takedown of cocaine and fentanyl trafficking in the Capital Region. WNYT reports the ring brought drugs from Brooklyn and distributed them to Rensselaer, Albany, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington counties, the Attorney General’s Office announced Tuesday. Investigators seized more than 4.5 kilograms with a street value of around $450,000.

Bolton Landing Man Facing Drug Charges

A Bolton Landing man was arrested on several drug charges after an early morning hit-and-run accident in Hague. State Police were called to Lake Shore Drive in Hague at about 3 a.m. Sept. 29 after Gabriel M. Houghton reportedly hit a guard rail and continued driving. Troopers located his vehicle disabled a short distance away and reportedly found Houghton, 25, in an intoxicated condition with unlawful amounts of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and felony-weight narcotics in his vehicle.

The Fall Job Fair is happening at Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls on October 10th between 9:30 a.m and 12:30 p.m. Participans can meet local employers and explore career opportunities with Warren County Career Center staff. Among the businesses on hand; the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Hannaford, the Queensbury Union Free School District, and UPS, among others.

CDTA Flex Rides Now Come At Cost In Saratoga County

CDTA Flex rides will now cost $1.50 in southern Saratoga County following the end of a pilot program where rides were free of charge. The Daily Gazette reports CDTA Flex provides on-demand rides to key locations throughout the Capital Region. Customers can call a ride to pick them up wherever in southern Saratoga County before dropping them off at one of several key locations throughout Clifton Park, Halfmoon and Mechanicville.

Saratoga County Man Receives Congressional Gold Medal

A Saratoga County man has received one of the highest honors for his work in the military.
Bob Nevins, was a helicopter rescue pilot in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, reports WRGB. He was part of the elite Dustoff crews who pioneered the concept of rapid medical evacuation using helicopters, transporting nearly 900,000 wounded soldiers, allied forces, and even civilians during the Vietnam War.
