Police are investigating the death of a woman in Saratoga County. WNYT reports a man who lives on Zani Lane in the town of Ballston said he found his wife – 74-year-old Susan Duglin – in the water in Ballston Lake and she was unresponsive. Duglin apparently fell while looking for her dog. The dog and a leash were found nearby.

Memorial Held For Galway Firefighter
A service was held on September 18 in the town of Galway to honor the life of firefighter Chad Jazwinski. WNYT reports the 46 year old tragically passed away last Saturday in a motorcycle accident. Jazwinski was a lifelong resident of Galway and an active member of the Galway volunteer fire company for more than thirty years.
Teen Arrested In Clifton Park Apartment Stabbing
The Saratoga County sheriff’s Office says they have a man in custody, following a stabbing in Clifton Park. WRGB reports Deputies responded to an incident on Huntridge Drive, the Fox Run Apartments, just after 8:00a.m Thursday.
The suspect , Joseph T. Colaccino, 18, was arrested for Assault . The victim was taken to the hospital for treatement.
Arrest In Officer Involved Shooting In Ballston
New York State Police have made an arrest in connection with a June officer-involved shooting in Ballston. 27 year old Joseph Mrozek of Malta, emerged from a home back in June with a shotgun and after ignoring officers’ orders to put it down, an officer fired a shot, wounding him in the upper torso. The arrest came just this week.
Three Dozen Jobs Being Eliminated At Albany Med
Albany Med is eliminating 37 positions, and won’t fill several others. WNYT reports CEO Dennis McKenna says the hospital has an “unprecedented” $66 million year-to-date operating loss. Most of the positions are non-clinical, and frontline workers were not affected. They say all affected workers will get severance and job placement help.
Saratoga County Airport Gets State Money For Upgrades
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that $230 million in awards to nine upstate airports for revitalization projects that reimagine and further modernize airports across upstate New York. Saratoga County Airport: $27 million for the construction of a new, state-of-the-art, energy-efficient terminal building. The new building’s first floor will provide two passenger waiting areas and other amenities while the lobby area will feature a display area for automobiles from the Saratoga Automobile Museum
Septic Issue Prompts Halfmoon Apartment Complex Residents To Leave
A septic system problem forced 26 people at a Halfmoon apartment complex out of their homes. WNYT reports it happened at Duke’s Grove on Hudson River Road where the septic system for those apartments is buried in a leach field directly across from the Hudson River and during heavy rains Tuesday, the leach field was saturated and the property deemed uninhabitable.
Northumberland Man Arrested On Sex Counts
State Police of Wilton arrested 36 year old Siatar K. Creech of Northumberland on a warrant for Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, Rape and Criminal Sexual Act . Members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation discovered that Creech had on multiple dates, engaged in sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 17 since the beginning of 2022 while in the town of Moreau. Creech was processed at SP Wilton and arraigned at the Ballston Spa Village Court where he was released on his own recognizance.
Report: Saratoga Has Replacement For First Night
Saratoga Springs is starting a new New Year’s festival to replace its First Night celebration. WNYT reports there will be a big celebration featuring more than a dozen musical acts, some of them nationally known. Bands will perform throughout the city, with the headliners playing at the City Center. People will be able to buy all-access badges and participate in a music crawl.
Halfmoon Man Facing Forgery Charges
On September 9, 2022, State Police of Clifton Park arrested Brian T. Stanley, 41, of Halfmoon, NY, on an Arrest Warrant for four counts of Forgery. On June 28, 2022, at about 5:40 p.m., Troopers received a complaint from a business operating in Halfmoon, NY, that stated several contracts had been submitted that contained forged signatures. An investigation determined the contracts that contained the forged signatures were submitted by Stanley. Stanley owns and operates under the name New York Renewable Energy, Engineering, and Recycling LLC (NYREER LLC.).
