Glens Falls Restaurant Week is set to return from March 2 to 8. Participating restaurants will be offering three-course prix-fixe dinner menus to showcase the different dining options in the area. WTEN reports dining options are priced at $25, $35, or $45 depending on the restaurant. The prix-fixe menus for most restaurants are linked below but most can also be found on the Glens Falls Collaborative website.

Wilton Woman Charged With Punching Person, Biting Deputy’s Hand

A Wilton woman is accused of punching a person and biting a deputy’s hand. According to WNYT, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Timberland Drive in the town of Wilton just after 7 p.m. on Sunday for a domestic incident. Maizie G. McCormick, 32, allegedly violated an order of protection. She’s charged with criminal contempt, assault, criminal mischief and harassment. She was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Wilton Town Court.

Horse Rescued From Pond Through Team Effort

Saratoga Springs Police officers helped rescue a four-legged friend who had fallen through the ice of a pond. Ali Ernst wrote on Facebook that she came home from work, looked out the window and saw her horses playing on the pond. One of those horses, Sly, fell through the ice into water over his head. Arriving personnel used a rope to work together and pull the horse until it was able to get up on its own.

Update On Lake George Amphitheater

There’s progress to report on the Lake George amphitheater, destroyed last summer by fire. WRGB reports there is now a design for a new bandstand that will preserve the lake view and be even more welcoming to performers and audiences alike. There will be a basement with a green room for performers and a lift to move heavy equipment on stage–even a community room to host arts projects or community workshops.

Saratoga Preps For Defense In $10 Million Federal Lawsuit

The city of Saratoga Springs is getting ready to defend itself from a $10 million federal lawsuit. The son of a longtime property owner is accusing the city of conspiring against his father, engaging in racketeering, and violating his civil rights. WRGB reports the suit was filed by the son of William DiCenzo, an 82-year-old Vietnam veteran. DiCenzo has owned the property on 254 Washington St. since 1983.

Kuczynski Drops Appeal In DPW Commissioner Vote

The interim Saratoga Springs Public Works commissioner is dropping a possible appeal to keep the seat. WNYT reports democrat Hank Kuczynski sent a statement on Monday, saying the expensive cost to mount an appeal precludes him from moving forward. This ends the months long battle to decide who is the city’s next public works commissioner.

Lake Luzerne Completes Upgrades In Lake George Wild Forest

DEC recently partnered with the Town of Lake Luzerne to repair facilities and improve access in the Hudson River Special Management Area (HRSMA) within Lake George Wild Forest. Sun Community News reports the HRSMA, located along the Hudson River between the towns of Lake Luzerne and Warrensburg is a popular destination for activities such as swimming, tubing, camping, and picnicking.

Protesters Rally Outside Stefanik’s Glens Falls Office

As questions linger about the timing of a special election in New York’s 21st Congressional District, a group of voters is demanding to know the whereabouts of their current representative, Elise Stefanik. WRGB reports members of Indivisible ADK Saratoga, a group formed to oppose conservative policies, gathered in Glens Falls to urge Stefanik to engage with her constituents and fulfill her duties as their representative.

Two Arrested In Death of 3 Year Old In Corinth

Two people have been arrested in connection to the death of a 3-year-old in Corinth, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday night. WTEN reports Samantha Dylewski, 32, and Matthew Dylewski, 33, of Corinth each face five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
