Flames Damage Corinth Home

One person is out of their home after a fire in Saratoga County. WNYT reports flames broke out early Wednesday morning on Fuller Road in Corinth. No word as yet on a cause for the fire or the amount of damage done. The Red Cross is helping out the displaced occupant. No injuries reported.

Calbone To Step Down As Saratoga Hospital President/ CEO

Saratoga Hospital president and CEO Angelo G. Calbone will retire later this year. The Saratogian reports he steps down after a 16 year tenure and C albone’s decision was announced on Monday by Saratoga Hospital Board of Trustees chairperson Michael J. Toohey, who lauded the impact of the CEO and his team.

Halfmoon Man Sentenced In Child Sex Attempt Case

A Halfmoon man has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars for trying to entice a person he thought was a 14 year old child to have sex with him. WNYT reports the person 44 year old Kevin Nugent was communicating with through social media, was actually an undercover cop. Nugent was arrested when he went to meet the child in Albany County.

Ballston Spa Man Accused Of Stealing Trailer

A Ballston Spa man is under arrest for allegedly stealing a trailer. WTEN reports State Police say 64 year old Jon Miles of Ballston Spa was arrested for criminal possession of stolen property. The victim reported that the trailer was parked at their work yard on Route 50 in Ballston and after realizing that the vehicle was gone, they were able to track its location using a GPS unit. Police said the trailer, valued at about $15,000, was found on a property owned by Miles in Ballston.

Taft Furniture Being Purchased By Raymour & Flanigan

Taft Furniture is being purchased by Raymour & Flanigan. WNYT reporots Taft’s Colonie store will become a Raymour & Flanigan outlet, while the Saratoga Springs store will become a full Raymour & Flanigan showroom. Raymour & Flanigan says they plan to keep many of Taft Furniture’s employees and will credit their years of service.

Greenfield Getting Its Own Ambulance Service

Greenfield is getting its own ambulance service. The new operation will be set up right across the street from the fire department to help serve the town’s 8,200 residents. WNYT reports Greenfield Ambulance will be staffed around the clock with an EMT and a paramedic.

How does outdoor dining no a more permanent basis in Saratoga souond? WNYT reports new City Accounts Commissioner Dillon Moran is pushing a long-term plan to close some streets to cars on weekends during the spring and summer months.
Restaurants would be allowed to serve customers on sidewalks Thursday through Saturday nights.

Judge Dismisses Charges Against BLM Leader In Saratoga Case

A Saratoga Springs City Court judge has dismissed the charges filed against Jamaica Miles, a leader of Black Lives Matter and a Schenectady School Board member. WNYT reports Miles was charged with unlawful imprisonment and disorderly conduct following a protest last July. The judge said video taken that day shows Miles with those protesters, but she was not the most culpable, simply the loudest.

Popular Saratoga Restaurant Closes Doors For Good

A popular restaurant in Saratoga Springs has closed its doors for the last time. Farmers Hardware opened in the Spa city five years ago, reports WNYT. Owners say the combination of the pandemic and the birth of the first child has led them to decide on the restaurant’s closure. Sunday was the last day of service.

Saratoga Springs Woman Accused Of Wilton Break In

Saratoga Springs woman is accused in a burglary to the office building of the Paddock Apartments in Wilton. WNYT reports 27 year old Kayla Kelsey is accused of stealing items and damaging property. Kelsey was arraigned, and is due back in court at a later date.
