A Clifton Park was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for driving drunk and causing a crash in Bethlehem that killed a woman. According to WNYT, the crash happened on May 1 just before 7 a.m. Matthew Monthie, 29, crossed the center line on Route 85 in Slingerlands and hit another car head on.

Corinth Apartment Where 3 Year Old Died Is Condemned
The Corinth apartment where a 3-year-old girl died has been condemned. Joycelynn Dylewski died nearly two weeks ago. WNYT reports the Corinth building inspector found the home unsanitary. Emergency responders arrived to her family home, for a report of a child not breathing. Investigators are working to find out what exactly happened. Meanwhile, Samantha and Matthew Dylewski, Jocelynn’s Parents, are facing five counts each of endangering the welfare of a child.
South High Marathon Dance Raises $700K
The 48th annual South High Marathon Dance, held at the South Glens Falls High School from Feb. 28 – March 1, 2025, has once again raised a substantial amount of money for local families and charities. WRGB reports the total amount — $700,528.31 — was announced during the marathon’s closing ceremony on Saturday, with funds will benefit 34 recipients, representing both individuals and organizations from South Glens Falls and surrounding areas.
Bands N’ Beans Returning To Lake George
Bands N’ Beans will be returning to Lake George for its 31st year later this month. Nicknamed “the biggest party in the North Country,” the event will feature chili creations from over two dozen local restaurants and performances from nine bands. According to WTEN, it happens on March 30, hosted by the Lake George Arts Project.
Man Facing Charges In Ballston Domestic Incident
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Patrick R. Vezeau, 59, of Saratoga Springs after they responded to a domestic call in the Town of Ballston. WNYT reports it happened on Dominic Drive and Vezeau is accused of violating an order of protection by striking the victim to their facial area, said the Sheriff’s Office.
Sunday Morning House Fire In Glens Falls
A structure fire Sunday morning in Glens Falls, leaving the house with significant damage. Three dogs also passed away from the fire. The call came in around 9 a.m. to 21 Western Avenue.
Authorities say that one of the residents emptied ash into a kitchen garbage, possibly not realizing there were still hot embers. The house has been declared uninhabitable.

Public grant applications for GlobalFoundries- Town of Stillwater Foundation are now available for community organizations. More than $587,000 has been invested into the Stillwater community through the public grants since 2013. WTEN reports the application deadline is March 31.
