The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office has shut down an illegal open-air drug market and arrested 13 people. According to WNYT, police searched 2244 U.S. Route 9 in the town of Malta. The vendors operating in the illegal open-air market had a large quantity of concentrated marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms and over 43 pounds of flower marijuana, plus two handguns and about 10,000 in cash were seized.

Minors With Airsoft Rifles In Malta
Two minors allegedly wielding airsoft rifles fled the scene on foot after state police responded to an emergency call near Saratoga Lake on Sunday afternoon. The Daily Gazette reports both individuals were eventually found later that day in Malta following a search of the area. No arrests were made.

Sentencing happens April 18th for a Waterford man who admitted to trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine throughout Saratoga County. 34 year old Michael J. Scensny pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Cour o attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, after a lengthy investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and Saratoga Springs Police Department.
NYRA Looking To Hire For Belmont Stakes
The New York Racing Association is holding a job fair on Wednesday for the four-day Belmont Stakes in June. WNYT reports they are looking for restaurant staff, cashiers, cleaners, clerks, and others to work the festival from June 6-9. You must be at least 15 years old and have New York State certified working papers. The job fair is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on February 21 on the first floor of the 1863 Club.
Flurry Festival In Saratoga
The annual Flurry Festival of Traditional Participatory Dancing and Music will be celebrating its 36th year this weekend in Saratoga. The event kicks off on February 16. It features hundreds of performers, ranging from swing and tango dancing to concerts and storytelling. More Paid Parking Coming To Saratoga
Saratoga is about to start charging for parking in more places. WNYT reports currently people only must pay to park at the City Center. However, all parking lots in the city will be $2 an hour from May 1 to Sep. 30. The revenue will help fight the homelessness problem in the city, say officials.

It comes after a number of horse deaths around the U.S. last year led to questions, criticism and safety reviews on the causes.
