Singer Ben Folds is coming to Saratoga Springs. The Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter will perform as part of Saratoga New Year’s Eve 2025, at the Saratoga Springs City Center. Mystic Bowie’s Talking Heads will be at Universal Preservation Hall. The two-day event will be held on Dec. 31 and January 1.

Warren County’s ‘Return The Favor’ Program To Benefit Vets
The Warren County Clerk’s Office is reminding Warren County veterans that they operate a “Return the Favor” program that coordinates discounts for veterans at many local businesses. Sun Community News reports nearly 200 businesses – from restaurants and hotels to auto repair shops and barbers – are registered with this program. Veterans get a discount card to show at businesses participating in the program.
Whitehall Man Pleads Guilty In Assault Case
A Whitehall man pleaded guilty to second-degree assault. Dylan Scoville is anticipated to face five years in prison with five years of post-release supervision when sentenced on November 15.
State Police say that Scoville, along with Jessica Cleavland and a 17-year-old, violently assaulted a victim in their home.
Date Set For Special Election To Fill Saratoga DPW Seat
Following weeks of back and forth between Saratoga Springs City Council members, a special election to fill the Department of Public Works commissioner position has been set for Jan. 28. The Daily Gazette reports the date comes almost two months after Jason Golub left the role to take a job with the state. The measure passed unanimously.
Siro’s Owners Opening New Italian Restaurant In Saratoga
The owners of the popular track season eatery Siro’s plan to open an Italian restaurant on Phila Street in the coming months. The Daily Gazette reports,called Noah’s, it’s named after chef Noah Frese, who came on board Siro’s this summer.
Gansevoort Woman Faces Additional Charges In Gun Case
A Gansevoort woman who was arrested in July in connection to a dispute with a firearm, has been arraigned on new charges. 34 year old Jennifer Hagadorn had originally been charged with hiding the gun a man used to threaten another man in her room at Lake George Residence Inn and is now also charged with weapons possession, tampering with physical evidence, hindering prosecution and endangering the welfare of a child counts.
Walk To End Alzheimer’s In Queensbury
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s event returns to Queensbury this weekend, with a goal to raise $235,000.
The group’s Queensbury webpage reports that as of Monday morning, more than $130,000 has been raised towards this year’s goal and 420 participants have registered for Saturday’s event.
Clifton Park Teen Facing Assault Charges
A Clifton Park man was arrested on Oct. 11 for assaulting a person near Maxwell Drive. 19 year old Malik Simms was arrested and faces multiple charges, reports WTEN. Troopers say on October 11th, a victim was approached by Simms, who allegedly hit and kicked the victim until they lost consciousness.
Saratoga Wing Off Set For Saturday
The 7th annual Saratoga Wing Off will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Patrons will be able to enjoy $2 wing samples at participating establishments, and can vote for People’s Choice and Wildest Wing (for most creative flavor). In addition, a silent auction will take place there from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Saratoga BLM Wants More Police Reform Plan Recommendations Adopted
Saratoga Black Lives Matter stood on the steps on Saratoga Springs city hall demanding the entire police reform plan be adopted. WNYT reports the plan included 50 recommendations, like a civilian review board, de-escalation training, and responding to calls with social workers instead of police. 28 of 50 recommendations have been adopted so far.
