First Saratoga Cannabis Dispensary Has Plans To Open

Saratoga Springs will soon have its first cannabis dispensary, and it’s just a couple blocks from the Broadway Business District, reports WNYT. High Peaks Canna will be Saratoga Springs’ first dispensary, located on Maple Avenue. High Peaks reportedly hopes to open in the middle of next month.

Saratoga Man’s Murder Case Likely Headed To Trial In September

The case of the Saratoga Springs man accused of killing his former partner and mother of his child is likely heading for trial in September. According to WNYT, Sebastian Mabb did not plead guilty to second-degree murder at an accept-or-reject hearing in Saratoga County Court on Tuesday, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.

Two Arrested In Mechanicville Robbery

Mechanicville Police say two people have been arrested in connection to a robbery investigation. Jordan Barton, 20, of Kingston, and Aiden Hungerschafer, 18, of Schenectady, are both facing numerous charges for allegedly stealing money from a victim at Park and Central Avenues in Mechanicville. Officers located their vehicle shortly thereafter and a search turned up stolen money in the car, say police.

Delaware Man Charged In Crash That Killed Gansevoort Residents

A Delaware man has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and killing three Saratoga County residents in a crash last month. WNYT reports 59 year old Jay Richard Bynum crashed into a Subaru being driven by 21 year old Dean Dennison. The crash killed Dennison, 20 year old Sierra Rain Merchant and their 1-year-old child Grayson Dennison. All three are from Gansevoort and were traveling to go to a family vacation in the Outer Banks, according to their GoFundMe page.

Mechanicville Woman Says She And Husband Were Shot With Something While Walking

Mechanicville woman says she and her husband were struck by something fired by someone in a passing car at Park and Third avenues in Mechanicville. Katrina Osterhout tells WNYT, the shooter appeared to be a boy wearing a red bandana covering his face. Police believe it could have been a gel blaster shooting water-based gel beads called Orbeez. Teens across the country are taking part through social media in something called the Orbeez Challenge, driving and shooting the guns.

Clifton Park Man Arrested In Deadly May 1 Crash

Police arrested a Clifton Park man in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash that happened more than a month ago.
WRGB reports Bethlehem Police arrested Matthew R. Monthie, 28, of Clifton Park on charges stemming from May 1 crash on SR-85 crash in the Slingerlands which killed 53 year old Shawna D. Marzahl of Selkirk.

A&E Does Not Plan Monahan Program

A&E Network is not planning any programming centered around convicted Kaylin Gillis murderer, Kevin Monahan. WNYT reports in an email to Kaylin’s father, Andy Gillis, the network said, “A&E has no plans to produce any programming based on this tragic case.”

Belmont Stakes Drew Hefty Wagering, Says NYRA

Wagering at Saturday’s Belmont Stakes topped records, according to the New York Racing Association. WNYT reports there was a total of $125,748,941 wagered from all sources, which is a record for a non-Triple Crown year. This is an increase of 6.3% from the previous non-Triple Crown record of $118,283,455 in 2023, NYRA said.

Lawyer Claims Self Defense In Malta Pipe Wrench Death

Defense attorney Kevin O’Brien, representing 20-year-old Cyrus Tetreault, says the night Tetreault hit 53-year-old Brian Miller with a pipe wrench it was in self defense. WRGB reports Tetreault faces charges of manslaughter in the 1st degree, and criminal possession of a weapon. O’Brien says on Friday May 31st, Miller was coming at Tetreault and his girlfriend with a hatchet while Miller’s friend had a knife.

Latham Man Charged In Albany Homicide

Albany Police announced that an arrest has been made in connection to a homicide that occurred on Broadway back in May. 35 year old Ulias Kornegay of Latham, was charged with second-degree murder. On May 24 around 2 a.m., police responded to the parking lot of Ciro’s Place on Broadway following reports of a shooting. Officers located the victim, Kwon Lillard, 36, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
