53-year-old Dean E. Harrington of Corinth was arrested by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office following a public assist call made on January 14. WNYT reports were called to Mill Street in Corinth. Harrington is accused of committing a specified offense under the statute having been convicted of one or more of the specified offenses within the last five years.

Gansevoort Woman Charged In Computer Network Access Case
A Gansevoort woman is accused of improperly accessing a computer network. According to WNYT, 47 year old Deborah M. Lux allegedly knowingly accessed the network without authorization, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said. The investigation stemmed from a complaint from a resident on Catherine Street in the town of Northumberland on Dec. 19.
Clifton Park Man Charged In Alleged Attack
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Aslam Earnest, of Clifton Park on Saturday on varying charges. WNYT reports police responded to a disturbance call on Kashmiri Terrace in Clifton Park around 11:23 p.m. Earnest is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to someone else by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument, as well as possessing the instrument or weapon with the intent to use it unlawfully.
Man charged with attempted murder in January 4 shooting
A man was shot and the suspect charged with attempted murder as well as numerous gun-related charges, following an incident that occurred in Halfmoon in southern Saratoga County on Jan. 4. Justin P. Wagner, 25 was subsequently charged with attempted murder in the second-degree, criminal use of a firearm, two counts criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of an assault weapon. He is in Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan Update
The Saratoga County Office of Emergency Management has opened the public comment period for its draft 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan Update prepared by Saratoga County, participating jurisdictions, and H2O Partners, Inc. The purpose of the Plan Update is to protect people and structures and to minimize the costs of disaster response and recovery.

The 48th Annual Saratoga Jazz Festival, presented by GE Vernova will return for a full two-day and two-stage weekend experience on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. the line-up is headlined by Gary Clark Jr. and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, vocalists Gregory Porter and Cassandra Wilson, Tickets go on sale Jan. 21 to SPAC members and on Jan. 24 to the general public.
Glens Falls approves Washington Square
In their Monday meeting, The Glens Falls Planning Board unanimously approved Chris Patten’s plan to destroy a pair of two-story houses on Glen Street and a one-story office building on Harlem Street to create Washington Square, comprised of two new three-story apartment buildings and a fitness center. Approval was despite the opposition expresses in November with 27 letters of opposition sent to the board.
Transporation safety top priority for Saratoga Council
Transportation safety was the hot topic as Saratoga Springs partners with the Capital Region Transportation Council, asking for community feedback on improving road safety. The input will help shape the council’s Vision Zero Safety Action Plan, which aims to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes. Some of the key concerns were solutions for individuals walking and biking down the busy roads.
100 new affordable apartments for working people
Saratoga Springs added 100 new units of workforce housing. The Ash Grove apartments are scheduled for demolition in the coming months to be replaced with six new buildings in their place. A lot of people who work in the Saratoga Springs area don’t make enough money for a market-rate apartment. Rent for these workforce units will cost roughly 30% of a renter’s monthly income.
Fort Ann Man Charged With Criminally Negligent Homicide
29-year-old Nicholas J. Normile of Fort Ann, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide following a fatal crash. He is accused of stealing a motor vehicle from a relative and subsequently colliding with another vehicle on Tripoli Road in the Town of Fort Ann. The other driver, 75-year-old Merrilee Howard of Fort Ann, later died from her injuries.
