The award goes to a person who has demonstrated excellence and outstanding dedication to their community and or environment.

Former Financial Company CEO To Stay Behind Bars Ahead Of Trial

The former CEO of a financial company will not leave jail before his fraud trial begins. According to WNYT,
Kris Roglieri faces more than $200 million in legal claims from former clients and creditors.
The former CEO of Prime Capital Ventures was arrested in Queensbury in May and charged with wire fraud.
Roglieri misused hundreds of thousands of dollars of a client’s money on personal expenses, according to prosecutors.

Dems Select Candidate To Run For Stefanik Seat

Democrats have selected a candidate to run for the seat soon-to-be-vacated by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. WNYT reports Stefanik is set to be confirmed by the full Senate to be the next UN ambassador.
The chairs of the Democratic committees that make up the 15 counties in the district announced on Tuesday that they will nominate Blake Gendebien if and when a special election is held.

Judge May Decide Saratoga Special Election

It now appears a judge will have a role in deciding last week’s special election in Saratoga Springs. WNYT reports the race between Republican Chuck Marshall and write-in candidate Hank Kuczynski, a Democrat, remains too close to call. The two were separated by just 29 votes after ballots were counted on election night. Both sides have been looking at ballots since Friday to determine if they were filled in properly.

One Dead In Charlton Crash

One person has died after a pickup truck and tractor-trailer crashed in Charlton. According to WNYT, the crash happened near State Route 67 and West Line Road around 12:45 Monday afternoon. The pickup truck driver was thrown from the truck and pronounced dead, police said. Their name hasn’t been released.

Community Rallies Around Glens Falls Firefighter Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s

There has been tremendous support for a Glens Falls fire lieutenant facing a life changing diagnosis. WNYT reports Doug Holl’s firefighting career ended abruptly after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, less than two years shy of 20 years of service. That would have allowed him to collect his full benefits. The city is saying it would be illegal for fellow firefighters to donate their sick time and vacation time to allow him to reach that milestone.

Harness Racing Back In Saratoga

Live harness racing has returned to the Spa City for its 84th season. WRGB reports the track will host nine New York Sire Stakes programs for an additional $1.5 million in cash, but the main event of the season is going to be the 16th annual Joe Gerrity Junior Memorial Pace in July.

Juvenile Arrested In Milton Domestic Incident

A juvenile was arrested on Saturday in the Town of Milton following a domestic incident. Officials say they responded to the incident around 9:23 a.m., reports WNYT. Authorities say the juvenile offender is accused of causing physical injury to another person by the means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument by striking another person to the head with a glass jar.

Malta Woman Facing Drug, Bail Jumping Charges

33-year-old Laura M. McClements of Malta was arrested on January 30 by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant from the Wilton Town Court. According to WNYT, McClements had been charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and was charged with second-degree bail jumping after allegedly failing to appear in court within 30 days of the required date
