A lawsuit was recently filed against the City of Saratoga Springs by the Saratoga Springs City School District.
The issue outlined in the lawsuit stems back to an issue where Quad/Graphics (QUAD) was not removed from the 2022 tax roll, despite them entering into a Payment In Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) Agreement. Since they were not removed by the City Assessor, QUAD ended up paying the school tax bill instead of making the anticipated PILOT payments which, according to the lawsuit, led to a financial shortfall for the school district.
