U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik has shot to the lead of who Republicans would like to see as the new governor, according to a new poll. WNYT reports a Siena College poll has Stefanik with the support of 35% of Republicans, compared with 22% from U.S. Rep. Mike Lawler and 11% for Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. A poll last month that did not include Stefanik had Blakeman leading Lawler 28-22%.
