A State Police trooper shot a 43-year-old Washington County man after investigators said fled from a traffic stop and pointed a rifle at them. WNYT reports the incident started at around 12:13 p.m. on Wednesday, when police attempted to pull over Billy Cassell III, of Kingsbury, on Route 9 in South Glens Falls. He had an active arrest warrant out of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on a criminal contempt charge.
