Albany County DA To Return Grant Money Used For Raises

The Albany County District Attorney David Soares took state grant money and used it to give himself and some staff members 11 percent bonuses in December. In Soares’s case, that meant an extra $22,000 in addition to his $200,000 salary. WTEN reports he released a video statement on Monday and said the issue has become a distraction, so he plans to give the money back to the county.
