Officials in the town of Ballston failed to provide adequate oversight of water fund operations, which led to the loss of hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars. According to the Daily Gazette, an audit released by state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office on Thursday found officials did not reconcile water purchased or delivered with water used and could not account for water totaling $300,000. The audit was conducted from January 2021 to Dec. 31 2022.
