An injured hiker from Saratoga County was rescued last week from a trail in Hamilton County.
The hiker, 69, of Gansevoort, suffered an ankle injury and had to be carried, then taken by boat for the EMS ride to the hospital.
The incident happened last Wednesday morning, officials said. Forest rangers responded then to a call for an injured hiker about 1.4 miles in on the Watch Hill Trail in the town of Indian Lake.
Then, with the help of Indian Lake Rescue, they tended to the hiker and got the person packaged on a board to carry her to a beach.
From there, the ranger took her by boat to the Indian Lake Islands Campground, where Indian Lake EMS drove her to the hospital
