Reports Indicate Deadly Saratoga Shooting Was Accidental

It appears that the Saratoga Springs man charged in the deadly shooting of his roommate did not intend to kill the man, according to prosecutors. WNYT reports Brendan Carl shot Michael Collins in the back with a pellet-style long gun at 66 Warren St. at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, police said. Carl called 911 to report what had happened. Police arrived to find Collins unresponsive. He was taken to Albany Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead shortly after getting there.
