State Supreme Court Judge Diane Freestone ruled Tuesday that the Saratoga Springs City Council violated Open Meetings Law in October 2023 when it held a vote via email rather than at a public meeting. The Daily Gazette reports Freestone determined the council’s violation of the law by casting votes and approving official actions via email was “unintentional, immaterial and wholly unprejudicial.”
