A plan to create 296 apartments and 86 townhomes at Wilton Mall was approved by the Town Board late last week, providing a new future for the facility which has seen large anchor stores leave over the years. The Daily Gazette reports the mall originally opened in 1990, but over the last several decades a number of large department stores closed. Mall officials and Paramount Development formed a partnership nearly three years ago, and are now seeking to add luxury, market-rate apartments and townhomes to the mall.
