WNYT reports the urgency comes after a gun battle erupted on Broadway Sunday morning involving an offi duty police officer from Rutland, Vermont. Now the city wants changes, including closing bars at 2 a.m. – not 4 a.m. They’re also talking about metal detectors at the bars. They’re also calling for a special entertainment district, separated from other businesses.
